I'm gonna be in AnimeFest 2010 in Dallas this weekend!  (so nice I typed it twice)  I've never exhibited my exotic wares in Texas before, so this should be a blast.  And, hey, I have some panels up my sleeves!

Friday September 3 @ 3:00pm - Webcomic Discussion

Sunday September 5 @ 2:00pm - Shortpacked! The Panel!

  • Shortpacked! (by David Willis) is everyone's favorite webcomic about folks who work in a toy store and tell jokes about Batman. Pick David's brain about the strip, his overabundant knowledge of Transformers, or shoot the breeze about your favorite Taco Bell combo meals. David's debuting a brand new webcomic next week which he's been exceedingly coy about, so here's your chance to ask everything you wanted to know about this Super Secret Project and see how that lines up with what he's willing to answer.

Since AnimeFest is Labor Day Weekend, it runs Friday through Monday!  That's a lotta days of being my best friend in the world.  If you show up and say hi to me at my table or at any of my panels, you automatically get a free preview souvenir bookmark of something special you'll see real soon.

Hey, dudes, I am totally in Canada right now.  The wifi here kinda isn't, and so I'm just on one of the lobby terminals.  They let me have 45 minutes online for free!  Hooray!

I got to see the Canadian Joe Convention dealer room setup this evening, and I really shouldn't have, because I remembered that I'm short a lot of Destros and they kind of have them.  Uh oh.  Also, woo, one table has a big pile of Funskool stuff, and that tickles me.  Tomorrow morning I'll get my booth set up and then start saying hello to you folks.

I'm, like, a special guest or something like that.  Because I'm awesome?  Their other special guests include Larry Hama and the original cartoon voices of Lady Jaye and Zartan.  That means I'm as cool as they are, I've decided.  I'm up-cooling myself through the transitive property.  That's right.  Go ahead and stop me.

Oh, and one of their exclusives is the Cobra North SNAKE.  Look at it.  Love it.

See you folks tomorrow at 9am, eh?

Bam!

Ever so often, Maggie "the wifes" Willis will draw, and when she does, it's pretty damn amazing! I wanted to share her most recent work, some fan art of Full Metal Panic. She draws the smooching nicely. Oh yes.

Tomorrow I leave Ohio for the crazy otherworld of Toronto, Canada! Saturday is host to Canadian GIJoe Convention, where I am an esteemed guest. I will have books for you to buy! Come see me.

Next month, on Labor Day weekend, I'm gonna be in Dallas, Texas, for AnimeFest!  I will also have a table there.  I've never conned in Texas before, so it should be a treat.  I'll also have much fun hangin' with my buds Joel Watson (Hijinks Ensue) and James and Mel (Two Lumps).  It'll be a blast!

Guess I should finish packing.  Now where's my passport...?

Oh, phew.

Here's a Toy News International strip for you!

Next weekend I'm going to be at the Canadian GIJOE Convention in Toronto!  Hooray!  I went last year and it was a blast.  And now that it's in Toronto instead of a Toronto suburb, it'll be a bigger blast!  If you're Canadian or something, come see me.

I'm also in the middle of attempting to get my ass to Anime Fest in Dallas, Texas, which is Labor Day weekend, aka the first weekend of September.   Just a few days before I'm scheduled to be at Intervention in D.C.!  (Which is the same weekend that Roomies! turns 13.)  I am all over this continent, dudes.

Thanks to everyone who came to see me at San Diego Comic-Con and didn't stab me in the eye!  You are the true heroes.

See those sketch cards?  Those were a huge hit.  I'll probably keep doing them.  Every time a character's card was bought, I'd redraw them on another one, and so I musta gone through like 15 Ambers.  She, Mike, Robin, and Ethan were the most-bought, for the record.  I also sold a lot of Batmen and SG Ravages!

Next up: The Canadian GIJoe Convention in Toronto!  That's the weekend after next.  See you there!
