One of these guys is secretly a clone of High School Musical.

Hi, this is Maggie!

So for the first time in my life, I went to McDonald's to buy toys at 10:00am on the Friday they came out. My first trip to the nearest McDonald's was a hit; they had two of the McYoung Justice toys I craved.

Unfortunately (?), they were Superboy and Superman. I mean, that's cool: I'm totally getting them all, but those who know me understand who really makes my clock tick. Oh well. The search continues!

So, while toting my husband to the Urgent Care center for his bronchitis, I interrupted our trip twice to check other McDonalds near the doctor's office, as all good wives should. Sadly, either they only had more Superpeople, or they hadn't gotten the toys in at all.

i am only half a supermans

Anyway, I am whelmed by the toys! Maybe I had really low expectations (and I did, in fact), but the molds are relatively show accurate and detailed. Superman's head's a wee small, but he can't seem to brain in the show anyway.

Superboy's red symbol on his chest lights up red and so do his eyes. This is a little weird because it's a plot point that he doesn't have all of Superman's powers, including the ability to fly and heat vision. Superman's head tilts down a little so that he can condescend to Superboy.

They each have a nifty button on the back that makes them punch things. Superman raises two arms, and Superboy punches with just one. If Superboy didn't feel inferior before now his only dream is to one day to punch with both arms instead of one. POOR SB WE STILL LOVE YOU.

Overall excited for the rest!

All the party Fallens put your hands in the air!

Man, a week or so back I thought to myself, "Dude, I should move my blogs from midnight to noon, and do updates every twelve hours like I do at Dumbing of Age."  And then removed of my midnight blogging habit, I promptly forgot about blogging.   Oh, momentum, how much you rule my life.

Halloween weekend Maggie and I are trying to see if we can manage to get down to Jon Stewart's "Rally to Restore Sanity."  On my end it's easy to schedule since I can just get up and leave and let the website do its work, but Maggie has, like, school and its frightening deadlines, all of which are in the next few weeks.  But it has to happen somehow.  We just have to figure out how to swing it.

The week after that is New England Webcomics Weekend, and I will totally be there oh my god.  It is the best thing in the entire world, I swear.  There will be more webcomic artists there than I can count, and I'm good at counting!  You have to go, for the love of all that is good and holy.  You don't even know.

Oh, and this coming weekend is Maggie's birthday.  We're weekend-busy all up in this shizzy!

Bam!

Ever so often, Maggie "the wifes" Willis will draw, and when she does, it's pretty damn amazing! I wanted to share her most recent work, some fan art of Full Metal Panic. She draws the smooching nicely. Oh yes.

Tomorrow I leave Ohio for the crazy otherworld of Toronto, Canada! Saturday is host to Canadian GIJoe Convention, where I am an esteemed guest. I will have books for you to buy! Come see me.

Next month, on Labor Day weekend, I'm gonna be in Dallas, Texas, for AnimeFest!  I will also have a table there.  I've never conned in Texas before, so it should be a treat.  I'll also have much fun hangin' with my buds Joel Watson (Hijinks Ensue) and James and Mel (Two Lumps).  It'll be a blast!

Guess I should finish packing.  Now where's my passport...?

Oh, phew.
