I’ve been doing absolutely nothing for the past few weeks as Maggie and I were on our honeymoon, and so before just jumping in head-first into the cliffhanger I left behind, I kind of felt I need to ramp up to it with a practice comic. I’m used to drawing zero comics per day and sitting on the beach and filling myself up with endless boat buffet meat lasagna. I haven’t used this Cintiq since 2010! And stuff that’s coming up is pretty intense.
(Yeah, I drew yesterday’s Aslan comic before I left.)
Speaking of our honeymoon, the only photos thus far uploaded from our trip can be found on Shattered Glass Ravage’s Facebook page. If you have Facebook and are his buddy, that is. (Which you should be.)

I like the second panel better.
So do I!
Me too, partly because you can tell they’re being rick rolled.
My brother once was rickrolled by a fortune cookie.
i’ve done that with songs too…
Damn your cliffhanger avoidance, WILLIS!!!
Cliffhanger extension, more like D=
Like other kinds of extensions: lots of filler!
I was half-convinced that David was holding out until January 20th
When I was on a cruise last year they had a band who only covered songs from movies at least ten-years-old. They did a pretty sweet ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight’ though.
NERRRRRRRRRRRD!
Which one of us is that aimed toward? You need to specify WHICH nerd.
Ahhh the suspense is killing me! I’ve postponed leaving to see what happens next at 9:00 PM and then you go and give us another (yes, another) filler!
Glad to hear you had a good time, though.
My friends do this on a surprisingly regular basis, considering that half of them are book nerds, not movie nerds.
<- Totally has Marty's 'life preserver' jacket
Last time I went on a cruise they had a free pizza bar, not a lasagna bar. Glad you had fun though.
Oh, ours had both. I just care more about meat lasagna.
That’s because meat lasagna is Teh Lawsome.
When this boat called their meat lasagna “meat lasagna,” they damn well meant business, too. It was roughly 85% ground beef. Everything else was an afterthought.
Hopefully they had some noodles in there. The noodles are the best part, for me.
Otherwise in would just me meat in sauce.
Meanwhile, Wil Wheaton and his family are playing shuffleboard on the next deck.
Willis, you have shown no inkling of Nerdhood. Maggie, yeah, sure, but you are a Pureblood Geek.
(This is me assuming that Maggie = Pixar = Math)
I have some BASIC programs to show you!
How could any sane person doubt your nerdhood? You write a webcomic about toy collecting. I have a creeping suspicion your first words were, “Until all are one”. Or something about rolling out.
I’m sure he was joking.
Also, I hope you enjoyed your honeymoon.
If they were his first words I suspect some sort of time travel was involved, as I presume he started speaking before he was four or five.
Infancy Fandom Precognition.
It’s a real thing I just made up.
That’s geeky, not nerdy.
Nerds solve complicated calculus problems for fun.
Geeks identify music from sci-fi flicks on their honeymoon.
Or to quote Milhouse, ‘I’m not a nerd. Nerds are smart.’
Ah, I didn’t know the distinction. Thanks
Nerds play “The Throne Room” from Star Wars *at* their weddings. (Yes, I’ve witnessed this. it was teh awesome watching all the little old ladies wondering what that wonderful classical music was.)
Are they playing “Earth Angel”?
Nope. No song with words.
EDIT: This one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCFrKXEob_I
“Happy go lucky local” See also: Duke Ellington
Oh, damn. I was going to say that I actually have the movie version of Earth Angel on my computer.
Although now I’m picturing George dancing.
I was gonna guess it was Johnny B. Good… I am not geeky enough to remember the other sings of that movie….
Did you meet the guys from Rifftrax?
SG Ravage sure did!
Nice!
I remember visiting the Calgary Tower when a section was reserved for a wedding party. They’d booked a trio with piano and two stringed instruments. No one else seemed to recognise the cantina music when they played it. Well, it was from a long time ago…
NEEEEEEEERD!
Congrats btw
We get it, your life is awesome. Quit rubbing our noses in it.
The first thing I thought when I saw this was:
“He married Kyonko!?”
Someone tell me I’m not the only one who sees it? Please? >.>;
Who’s Kyonko?
This is: http://oi52.tinypic.com/2a62veq.jpg
Gotta be the ponytail.
was it “night train”?
i’d click that youtube link, but they block it at work.
Yay! Back to the Future reference!
My internet heart is yours.
You know what is bad is that I think he is referring to the song “Earth Angel”.
Apparently not, it’s the instrumental. See above.
You know, there was this cliffhanger thing that you left us with a couple weeks ago. You might want to get back to that before your fans either eat you alive, or leave you for Jeph Jacques.
This almost makes me want to go on a cruise.
Dude, I told a true story to my girlfriend the other day about this exact thing happening to me, except when me and my friend heard this band play this song, we started dancing like George McFly.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jheEi_R0kV0
Thought this was appropiate. Hope you and maggie had agood time
Now resolve that cliffhanger or I will slaughter you.
Where’s the doodle of Doug Funnie and Alf?
Look they referenced an extremely popular movie from the 80′s that nearly everyone in the industrialized world is familiar with… what nerds!
They’re not just referencing an extremely popular movie, they’re playing a song that you have to be at least a bit of a movie/sci fi nerd to know (and care!) that it was in BTTF. And this is just one of many attractions on a cruise that is specifically marketed to nerds.
You went on the joco cruise crazy for your honeymoon? Lucky bastard!
If Willis is not a masochist he will resolve the cliffhanger before Convention Season resumes…. or the first Con of 2011 will need some major security during his panel….
Hey, David. We met on the ship at dinner. Like the comic!
Aaaaaaaaaaanddyyyyyyy! It was a pleasure bumping into you repeatedly.
