Heh. Ther rest of the week was fun cause SG Ravage is cute as all get out, but this one was actually pretty funny and a great way to tie things up. Good job.
BP is the oil company whose broken off-shore drill is causing the big, out of control leak that’s ruining the Gulf of Mexico. Apparently evil Wheeljack was responsible.
Supposedly a consortium of magicians got tired of BP fucking around and dropped a spirit nuke on the leak-site that will seal it once the material world reaches parity.
(It could hardly be LESS effective than anything else tried thus far.)
I don’t think people will have forgotten the leak once it’s sealed. And it would be the least jarring of the references in the storyline which date it to a specific time period (well, aside from the actual statement of the date) – even several years from now, everyone will remember the BP spill. I don’t know how many people will remember (or care) that Botcon 2010′s theme was G2.
These are topical comics about current toy news and a toy convention. Do you really think the BP part will be the most nonsensical thing to people a few years from now reading?
I don’t even know what Botcon is right now! I am only assuming from the name that it’s some sort of convention regarding robots! So, yes, to me, the BP spill is the part I know now and won’t necessarily remember in the future.
Must…snorgle…SG Ravage…
This entire storyline was wonderful – I have never wanted to hug a Decepticon so much!
(::ignoring husband’s snide comments about Starscream in the background::)
In the Shattered Glass universe, Glee is actually a good show, with decent music, but struggles in the ratings. As TV Guide used to say, it’s “one of the best shows on TV you’re not watching!” But the Decepticons appreciate it. Oh, and Lost’s ending? It made complete sense, and satisfied the majority of viewers.
I love how the last panel indicates that the SG universe exists in full-colour, while in “our” universe, everything always appears in convention-sketch-style.
Sooo… this “Shattered Glass” thingie, it’s an alt-dimension team-polarity reversal, then? Seriously, this is basically the first I’m coming into contact with it.
THAT DASTARDLY SLIMEBALL!
I love SG Soundwave so much.

Please, please do a full drawing of that last panel, it made me laugh so hard I choked. (Though a full version might be lethal.)
The BP logo looks like an explosion.
I saw the last panel and I could not stop laughing for a full minute
XDDD Well, THAT certainly explains a lot…
Well played, Mr. Willis.
Oh god, even if I hadn’t thought Ravage was cutest thing ever, this punchline would have made EVERYTHING worth it.
You have just won the internet. Congratulations.
ZAM! Another one out of the park!
I didnt understand the last panel can somepne explain plz?????

Epic Fail SG Ravage is disgustingly cute
SG ravage is the new Batman in my heart!
(um.. in that it would be an awesome thing I want to see more of in Shortpacked)
The problem with this comic is that a year from now when people are reading through the archives it will be irrelevant and make no sense.
At least, I hope it will. If the oil is still leaking a year from now, God help us all.

Pretty much. It’s not like we had forgotten Exxon Valdez (even before the BP spill brought it back into conversation).
Yup.

Someone made an Exon Valdez joke at my workplace Tuesday. I think this joke will age just fine.
I COME FROM THE FUTURE!!!
I lol’d.
I think that might be the longest setup i’ve seen for a BP joke so far… Congratulations!
So it was Wheeljack’s fault!
Awesome story-arc though

INCREDIBLE. I loved following the adorable guy through his Botcon adventures!
Shattered Glass Ravage should go on more adventures! :3c
I will see what I can do about that.
Thank you.
Seconded!

Heheheheehe
Hearing the surfer-talk in G1 Soundwave’s voice is…well, it makes the inside of my head awesome, I’ll say that.
in in doubt blame Wheeljack.
hmm…a little too soon for me
I agree with Dyemooch, we all need more SG!Ravage in our lives.
This pag A+++++
I nearly fell out of my chair.
I had forgotten Soundwave’s Big Grimesque bandanna. I don’t know how. SG Ravage needs to get a job as cover at a toy store…
I want a cuddly SG Ravage to call my very own.
I wonder what the legal issues would be regarding Willis making a fuzzy plushie…
Well, that makes sense…
Awww, poor Ravage! Bad Starscream! And just one panel later he is smirking!
Actually, a random query occurs to me…was a new Slicer released/previewed at Botcon, or was it an old one that Ravvy grabbed?
They made a new one out of Energon Downshift, ‘cuz he looks so damn much like Wheeljack
That annoys you too, huh?
If you’re going to tag “british petroleum”, shouldn’t you also tag “drill baby drill”?
Also go back 10 years. To when they were actually called ‘British Petroleum’…
Because I don’t know how else to contact Willis, or I’m terribly lazy, I think this is relevant to his interests:

Y’know, this comic makes me wonder what SG Starscream and Megatron/Galvatron sound like… I need a voice to put those two hilarious lines to!
I think Starscream would use Latta’s Wheeljack voice, and Galvatron would use either Kaye’s Optimus voice or Burton’s Ultra Magnus voice.
I totally want to go watch Glee with Shockwave and Ravage. :3
HAHA! So THAT’S what happened. Explains a lot
THIS EXPLAINS EVERYTHING!
Of course!
