I would Maim Ten People Badly for an Actual Mastergrade Gunpla Kit of Big O, and some of the other mechas from the show.
I would Kill for a Perfect Grade Gunpla Kit of Big O.
I just hope one day Bandai realises how awesome a Non-Gundam Mastergrade model kit range would be. The only one who I think would disagree would be the wallets…
They tried a non Gundam MG line briefly, but it seems it didn’t do very well. Well, they made a 1/48 MG Dunbine at least, some years back. Mind you that’s still a Tomino show, but honestly that’s not too surprising. And I guess they did some Patlabor stuff too.
Actually Big O was probably more of a success than Dunbine, since I think Dunbine went pretty unnoticed, but I guess someone somewhere has a (totally understandable) soft spot for the designs because they keep making a new toy of the Dunbine every few years. Or maybe they’re just trying to one-up Escaflowne. (if I may fanboy for a sec–I’m still really sad they cancelled the Lord of Byston Well figure series. They were expensive and a bit delicate but the sculpts were -amazing- and there were a bunch of cool designs they never got to)
It probably doesn’t help that Big O was a bigger success in the US than in Japan, since I expect overseas Gunpla sales are close enough to nil that Bandai doesn’t particularly care about them.
As I understood it, the ending is basically this:
The whole thing was basically subjective reality constructed by Angel’s actual personality, akin to a play/drama, in which all the characters had a part. The thing basically came apart when she finally realized this, only Roger managed to convince her to not erase everything. She basically just hit the reset button on everything, rewinding Paradigm right back to the start of the series, presumably with different events this time around. It was kind of implied that she, Dorothy, and probably Roger still remember the last iteration of Paradigm. As for the whole working out the back story, what the crap is actually happening here, thing I dunno.
My best guess, they’re in an endless loop, more or less like actors putting on new shows as soon as the old one ends, and they don’t keep their memories between stories, going into each thing as a blank slate. For some reason this time around bits and pieces of the last ‘play’ were left behind, popping back into their heads as memories. Roles they played, things they saw, whatever. That plus the bits and pieces of the last reality that got left over (the city, giant robots, ect.) prompted people to start searching for the truth. The simplest way to describe the reality in Big O (assuming I’m right, and that’s big assumption) would be “the post apocalyptic sequel to their last production”.
@FortMax So glad I am not the only person that does that!
And although it they are not as obviously similar, I also flip back and forth when humming the Ducktales theme song and ‘Always Something There to Remind Me’.
Only I’d say it would be more like if Dick Grayson inherits Wayne Corp and builds a Giant Robot, then gets Teen Titan (cartoon) Raven for a maid but she’s a robot and Alfred has one eye. Bats can’t handle ‘gray’ areas. Nightwing? Totally digs the ‘gray area’ shtick.
hehe… Its times like this that we realize how much Amber has grown as a character over the years. When the comic first started she would been sitting in the dark, hunched over her computer with a depressed face. Now she terrorized “My Little Pony” herds, quoting “Big O” with ham-ham on her head. Hurray Amber!
I gotta say, at first I didn’t like Big O, but the more I saw, the more I liked it until it ranks up with Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop in my book, not to mention Trigun……not sure what would round out my top 5, guess I’ll leave it at four unless I think of it before the end of this comment…..I guess DBZ, but that’s just because it was my intro to anime in general
I would kill for a Big O season 3
Amen, amen.
I will kill for Big O season 3.
I would Maim Ten People Badly for an Actual Mastergrade Gunpla Kit of Big O, and some of the other mechas from the show.

Buy the Chogokin one like I did. It’s awesome. Trying to find the expensive addon set is less awesome though.

I HAVE killed for Big O Season 3.
Obviously it hasn’t quite worked yet.
I’d settle for an ending that made sense. I still love the show but season 2′s finale is one big “what just happened?” moment.
That’s because there was supposed to be a third season.
Maybe TFA being aired in Japan will give it another season? Big O was such a hit here, the studios over in Japan caved an ordered another season.
Because CN helped fund it. Then they yanked funding on the planned third (and possibly fourth) seasons.
Right, Fine!
I’ll kill for a New Season of Big O and a New Season of Transformers Animated. That is my final offer…

I would like to see a remake of season 2 that makes sense.
Ive never seen the show lol
Amber O’Mally has now obtained godhood.
I declare this to be true.
Oh my god Big O joke. The best ever.
We have come to terms.
Daww, they look so cute.
Wonder where the other hamsters are?
You’re a louse, Amber Smith.
I’m totally doing this the next time I’m alone <3
You don’t do it all the time? How do you make it through your squishy human days?
The expression on Amber’s face in panel 6 is priceless.
I believe that is the famous :3
As should panel 7 be.
I Smell New Avatars!
*sniff* *sniff*
… Or burning plastic, I often get them confused….
Wow. I was just thinking of “Big O” earlier this evening. How bizarre!
Now then, where’s R. Dorothy?
*starts humming the Big O theme, then transitions to Flash’s Theme
“What do you mean, ‘Flash Gordon approaching’? OPEN FIRE! ALL WEAPONS! Dispatch War Rocket Ajax to bring back his body.”
Flash! Aaaaaaaaaahhhh!
So many kinds of wonderful…
Best. Reference. Ever.
“Big Amber, SHOOOOWTIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!”
@FortMax So glad I am not the only person that does that!
And although it they are not as obviously similar, I also flip back and forth when humming the Ducktales theme song and ‘Always Something There to Remind Me’.
I switch between ‘Always Something There to Remind Me’ and the gym leader battle theme from Pokemon red and blue.
Damn you Melanie. Damn you. I just got Duck Tales out of my head this morning. And now it’s back forever.
And she complained about tripping on transformers.
Panel 3 creeps me out. I couldn’t have a hamster in my hair.
Oh dear God! Thank you for that reference!
What is this Big O of which you are all speaking (even those who don’t mention it)? Orgasm? Orbison?
It’s an anime somewhat similar to Batman the Animated Series, only with giant robots and lots of amnesia.
In other words, it’s pretty awesome.
OBLITERATION!!!!
It’s sort of like an orgasm, except in the form of an awesome anime series.
Like, Batman with a giant robot or something.
Well, basically that’s an effective name for it.
The show really feels like the lovechild of BTAS, and Giant Robo for me.
Exactly, it’s got that oldschool giant robot feel to it.
It’s an anime series.
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheBigO
It is the most awesome anime series.
*gasp* TV Tropes! You have found my only weakness! Curse you! *shakes fist* Curse yoooooooooooou!
*clicks on link*
Haha! Your Tv Tropes link has no effect on me! You didn’t anticipate me already having that page in another tab!
*clicks link anyway*
Right now somewhere someone is thinking: “I must declare jihad against this blasphemy!” or the B-thumper equivalent.
Good luck Amber, AKA the next L Ron.
…huh?
And thus judgement came upon Sodomuffin, and she wast cast into the pyre of Hell.
I use that line from Big O as the marquee text in my screen saver…
I love it.
… One of these days I’m going to have to buy the DVDs, rewatch what I have seen, and see the stuff I haven’t seen yet.
Wow. I know absolutely nothing about that show.
Crush, Kill, Destroy!!!!!
LOL hialious
Would it make me a social pariah if I said I didn’t really care for that show?
Cuz I don’t.
The only way this could get better… would be the inclusion of a Final Stage. Somehow.
I love Big O. <3
Big O?
You …. You referenced Big O?
I want to have your Manbabies.
hehe… Its times like this that we realize how much Amber has grown as a character over the years. Ok. I love the Big O. Want either a third season or a REAL ending. Also, referencing Big O? effin awesome
I just love Ambers face in the sixth panel! :3
Amber is endearing to me for once
I just want to hug Amber for the :3 face.

Really? No one has made a ‘BIG O! SHOWTIME!!’ Reference yet? For shame, everyone. For same.
