Recalling his fight with Grimlock, where he perfectly anticipates Grimlock's move, I posit that Mr. The Fallen uses his awareness of parallel dimensions to win-- he knows just what Grimlock did in another dimension so he can anticipate him here. But in RotF he was suddenly simultaneously scorched by an exploding sun-eater, thrown through dimensional portals, flung out into space, impales, beaten, etc etc etc... events were remarkably congruent right up until his battle with Optimus Prime where they exploded into a dozen DIFFERENT defeats, spoiling his ability to tell what was happening. One of them is time-traveling.

How does this keep happening to a dude who has like two or three Tech Spec stats that are rated infinite?

Well… doesn’t the Fallen enter a multiversal node in parallel or something? Like he’s experiencing every universe in the ‘node’ of a dozen-or-so worlds simultaneously?
Recalling his fight with Grimlock, where he perfectly anticipates Grimlock’s move, I posit that Mr. The Fallen uses his awareness of parallel dimensions to win– he knows just what Grimlock did in another dimension so he can anticipate him here.

Me, I used him as an excuse to splurge on a Car Robots Black Convoy from toy-arena. I already owned Scourge, so I 'couldn't' justify buying Black Convoy without buying something else at the same online shop. Plus, if I had to have one version of The Fallen, it had to be the one on fire (and since he's a singularity, he can be my G1 The Fallen since the Titanium is too small!)
