I found pieces of a wooden medicine cabinet and the instructions for a laptop computer but no cabinet box or computer. I told electronics and they said; "Our computers are locked up." We went to go look and sometime during the last staff meeting, someone had broken into the computer section and TAKEN one, put it in the medicine cabinet box and walked out with a $400 computer for $30! Even as I was annoyed, I had to admire his gall! This happened at a Wal*Mart I work at. Anywho, every year, around Christmas, we have people bringing things back because they don't work, etc. The thing is, they give these people store credit, rather than going back with the customer and getting the replacement. I've seen people go in with what amounted to an old TV crammed into a bag, and walk out with a brand new 50" 1080p HDTV. It makes me sick, but there's not a damn thing we can do about it. We're not responsible for any loss that occurs internally; we're only supposed to patrol the parking lot. And get called pigs, apparently. I think everyone has a similar story. Back when the Wii was first released and limited one to customer during the holiday season, we (a co-worker and myself) watched a lady duck under the retractable, grab a box, open it and placed the contents into another box. Then she put another Wii box into her cart and on her way to the front she handed the empty box to another customer saying that since she managed to get two the other customer could have the extra so they wouldn't have to wait in line.
