   I’ve always thought that the official Jedi policy, if wise, would be:

   No attachment. Thus, you should have lots and lots of random sex to prevent that being a problem later on.

       How does that work with childbirth? Do Jedi use protection, or are they not supposed to have an attachment to their own offspring?

       Which sounds like it’d be even worse than the above situation, as their kids will probably inherit their Force Sensitivity. So not only will THEY become Jedi and be brought up to not emote, they will also have distant unloving parents. …Who are training them in various combat disciplines.

       …Okay, does anyone else now get the feeling that something like Anakin was pretty much bound to happen eventually?

         Basically, yes, that’s more or less the whole point of whatever parts of the plot aren’t there to lead to lightsabre battles and explosions. The New Jedi Order, after the movies, scrapped a lot of the no-attachment stuff. Luke got married to a former Imperial spy, f’rinstance.

           It should be noted that the old order did make certain allowances in special circumstances. For instance, Ki-Adi-Mundi (The Jedi with the big head) had 2 or 4 wives and several children, but that was because of the fact his species had a very low male birthrate.

         Actually because Jedi are supposed to begin being trained at a very young age I would say any male Jedi should just say to yoda and crew “Hey you should watch any podlings that come out of that there prostitute in 9 months and then sign them up for the academy.”
