I think the reasons why his schemes don't work any more is because nobody trusts him with <i>anything</i> power related after the sixth or seventh time he tried to take over everything.

I totally get what you are saying, friend. I just want to add that the last few chapters have been heavy character development for Mike & Amber and Robin and Leslie. Both of these arcs took them far out of the store, so it's understandable that we haven't seen The Faz in awhile.

While The Faz definitely had some effective schemes (especially his stint as the Second Eaton), I think it would be stale to have him continually winning and making us hate him. I feel that recently, he has morphed into a sort of punching-bag for the store, with his schemes not always working -a person you could almost pity. He is hated because of what he has done, not anything he is doing right now. I feel that this makes his character just a bit more dynamic... and of course it sets the stage for a comeback.

[I feel kind of ridicule discussing this with the author of the work himself, but whatever]
*spoilers ahead, just in case*

It would seem that way, but that's not how I see it.

Faz's mind seem to work differently than ours.
His logic is far from being... "logical", and is full of holes and randomness.
Yet, he seems to live faithful to his own ways, never hesitating.
(TvTropes makes explanations easier: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BlueAndOrangeMorality =P)

Yes, he was brutally sodomized.
But he WANTED to be sodomized in order to gain the job.
It was his DECISION, made by his insane (and probably broken) logic.

And crazy and all like he was, the most amazing thing about him is that his plans sometimes WORKED!

I remember him selling a lot of the CRP, his graph of "upness" impressing Galasso, and him convincing everyone he was the second "Eaton"; just to name a few things.

Now he is no longer that cool "completely weird" guy he was before.
His plans never seem to work out , if we ever happen to see him planning at all.

Faz was a strange mixture of "Weirdness, Mary Sue-ness and ChewToy-ness".
Now, he is just plain pathetic (and weird).

He was brutally sodomized in his first appearance. I'm pretty sure that's a pathetic role right out from the gate.

Is a shame what happened to Faz.
He was really a fun and insteresting character, but he suffered for a deep and unfixable "flanderization".
(see http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Flanderization)

Nowadays, he bearly appears in the comic (if he appears at all), and when he does he plays the same pathethic role.
