I’m certainly surprised. I didn’t think Amber was going to take Conquest’s job offer since she had the wedding at Shortpacked and Galasso doesn’t take what he perceives as betrayal lightly. While I’m happy to see Amber and Mike fulfilling their dreams I hope they don’t leave the strip.
I could imagine Galasso readying his hamster death squad.
Wonder how this will affect the whole “second born” thing. I doubt Galasso will forgive a debt like that.
It’s void if she’s no longer assistant manager. Maybe that’s another reason she took the job. With Robin around there’s a greater possibility she’ll get pregnant again and obligated to turn over her second born.

huh, i guess it would make narrative sense for Amber and Mike to exit the main cast. unlike some of the newer characters, they’ve been around since day one and with this wedding their arcs feel pretty much complete.

As long as they’re not moving out of the comic, I’m okay. If they’re moving out of the comic, I might not feel like reading anymore. =/ Not like I’d stop on purpose–the whole comic’s really well put-together–just I’m extremely lazy, and if I know the two characters I was reading for are gone, I’ll prolly just not care enough to make the effort. I’ll make the effort at first, but then I kinda just…’meh.’
I think this will lead to one of four things:
1) There will be an Amber/Mike sub-plot every so often in their new location (like how every so often in It’s Walky they had stories from the remaining Roomies cast), but otherwise they’ll be written out
2) There’s going to be another spin-off comic
3) Shortpacked is ending (quite a few of the storylines and characters seem to be wrapping up)
4) They’re going to Conquest’s new shop right next door to Shortpacked
Eh, I doubt 3 is the case. Pretty sure Willis still wants a comic he can rant about Fan Dumb in.
I figured that Amber would accept Connies offer. The priority shift is tremendous when you become a parent and thoughts of next week turn in to thoughts of the next decade. Amber has matured with surprising alacrity.
