By blocking out various bits of the picture... On the right hand side, note Mike's chin. Don-don's pushing upwards on his face fairly hard. Mouth, cheek and lower eyelid all mushed out of shape. They don't look like happy eyes to me. Just regular Mike on his lowest setting. Like Mean Machine set to "1". Left side of face isn't a smile, but it isn't the usual frown either. It's a sort of absolutely neutral grimace. That's probably as good as sober-Mike is ever going to get without something absolutely spectacularly super brilliant (like, so unimaginably great it overrides holding your first child for the first time).
