I am in San Diego for a Comic-Con! I am probably at Booth… let’s say 1330. That sounds about right. Sure, why not. Just find Joel Watson and look to your left or right.
During my absence, I have prepared for you some comics and arts I have recently published to Tumblr but not yet here. Today’s update is something I drew for Father’s Day, which absolutely coincidentally occurred the weekend after Donna was born. So enjoy.

FEELSPLOSION
… It’s perfect.
An adorable scene, but I just can’t shake how wrong seeing Mike smiling is.
Is he smiling? I think there’s some plausible deniability that it’s all the baby’s hand pushin his face.
I don’t think he’s “smiling” on his own…but he still has happy eyes, so it’s a good combo!
Yeah, he’s smiling. And I’m not talking about the side Donna is pushing on. It’s subtle, but on the other side is the rare genuine Mike smile.
Sorry guys, the jig is up. By blocking out various bits of the picture…
On the right hand side, note Mike’s chin. Don-don’s pushing upwards on his face fairly hard. Mouth, cheek and lower eyelid all mushed out of shape.
They don’t look like happy eyes to me. Just regular Mike on his lowest setting. Like Mean Machine set to “1″.
Left side of face isn’t a smile, but it isn’t the usual frown either. It’s a sort of absolutely neutral grimace. That’s probably as good as sober-Mike is ever going to get without something absolutely spectacularly super brilliant (like, so unimaginably great it overrides holding your first child for the first time). So we can probably count it as the equivalent of a big grin.
I interpreted as he’s fighting very hard NOT to smile, but the power of baby is too much, even for him.
Dear LORD, the CUTENESS. ; 0 ;
Oh Donna, Oh Donna Oh Donna, Oh Donna
Mike had a girl. Donna was her name.
Awww. Daddy’s teaching her how to break a neck!
“No, Donna, twist counter-clockwise!”
Dawwww…. Donna’s teaching daddy how to smile….
My first thought was ‘… If somebody caught this on camera…’
BRB, melted in a puddle of squee over here.
Actually, this time Mike’s smile seems decidedly un-creepy. In fact, it seems heart melty… which since it’s Mike, is creepy. =D
W…wwh….heh…heh…
eeeeeeeeeeee…..
That puddle? That puddle there? That is me. You melted me. With your cuteness. And now I am just a puddle of fangirl.
Holy cats, that’s adorable.
Awww. Another melted puddle here.
mike…is…smiling…happy… snow? in hell? WTF!
It’s cute that Mike doesn’t know how to hold a baby.
“I make daddy smile!”
And if he doesn’t do it willingly, she forces him to with her tiny little hands. Definitely Mike’s kid (^_^)
Ever been so sleep deprived you felt drunk? Donna knows how to make Daddy experience it!
Mike smiling? Seems legit…..
That said, DAAAAAW
Dear lord… I actually said ‘D’awww!’ out loud. No control, no intent, it was a pure reflex action.
I may actually have a heart.
LIES!
It’s your primal instinct to reproduce trying to lure you in to spawning!!
Don’t let it fool you!!!
That would make more sense if it also gave me an erection-
Oh wait… Huh. This is both embarrassing and confusing.
Apparently my kink is fatherly love. THERE IS NO WAY THIS CAN BE APPLIED TO MY RELATIONSHIP.
I just hope he hasn’t been drinking. That would be a bit unsafe…
That was very cute.
Lookit that other hand! She’s so balling up a fist so she can punch him if he doesn’t smile! It’s all ok! He’s still Mike!
Everything about this is wonderful.
Scenario: When Donna goes with a boy to prom:
-Mike puts his arm around the boy’s shoulder and leads him into his study-
Boy: Is this were you say if I hurt her you’ll kill me?
Mike: Kid, she can turn a fly into a walk at 5 yards with a needle. I’m warning you not to make her upset, I’m tired of digging holes.
1 UP
See you back here sometime in the late 2020s and we’ll see if that actually happens
YES. YES YES YES.
I come to the site today, on the day of my daughter’s first birthday, and am greeted by this image.
I… I seem to have something in my eye. Probably put there by the invisible ninja chopping onions beside me.
Those damned onion chopping ninjas! They seem to be drawn to babies.
Nobody.
Expects.
Ninjas.
This is totally babies.
It’s gone beyond that. This is at LEAST totally babies mcintyre.
I think I broke my squee.
Saw this and immediately had a heart-attack thinking I had missed Father’s day.
Ditto
Then I remembered I had that exact same momentary arrhythmia a few weeks ago on the saturday before it happened on sunday…
