Also, yes, 21 Dec 1963 was their first appearance, in the second ever Doctor Who serial, albeit just the metal arm menacing Barbara. Their full reveal was a week later.
There are few characters whose honesty involves so much brutality. Applejack is not among them. (Rainbow Dash hits a Dan level of honest from time to time.)
I don’t know, I kind of like aturbing…dismusing sounds like it would be defined as something that discourages thinking…rather the opposite of this conversation that is both amusing and disturbing.
Just a thought. Though “aturbing” also doesn’t do it justice.
Really, she never learns anything. Ever. You would think after a while, somebody in charge would notice that and do something about it.
Still, if it wasn’t for her recklessness, the show would be pretty boring. I’m pretty sure she’s responsible for Dark Energon. I don’t know how. but I’m sure it’s her fault.
I swear she will be the death of Bulkhead (and im serious here seeing as
A. One character is going to die
B. She is getting some character developement
In other words: The only reason that the Autobots haven’t put a perimeter fence around the earth bridge is because the writers cannot figure out some other way to drive a plot that doesn’t involve the Autobots being negligent to the point of child abuse.
I won’t lie. I don’t know who Miko is, but, NOW, thanks to that last panel, I have to draw fanart of Robin riding on Rainbow Dash’s back!
Thanks, Willis!
I’d make a joke about Miko, but really I’m more curious why Ethan just randomly brings his TFP human figurines to his retail job. It’s not exactly like he’s an office drone who can display them in his cubicle…
I worked in a Chevron gas station for a few years as an afternoon-to-midnight shift leader/cashier and yet *I* had a habit of taking a few Transformers: Altenators, 25th Anniversary G. I. Joes, Minimates, various gatchapon items, my electric guitar & amp (the most expensive “toys” that ever went with me) as well as other random stuff behind the counter/register area from time to time. I gave an explantion to my bosses that it was a way of relieving stress (on Sundays, boy-howdy, there was more than enough of THAT!) and they accepted it as a fact.
None of the customers ever really complained and most thought it was neat/peculiar… even got co-workers involved after a while by bringing in items of their own and we all had fun.
You don’t really need an office/cubicle/desk to keep tiny enough trinkets around that make ya happy: just a small area that’s easily maintained/out of the way of thieving hands & being knocked over. So I don’t see anything wrong with Ethan carrying two miniature figures around since they can easily fit into his pants pockets. As long as he doesn’t re-enact whole scenes from the t.v. series/comics when he should be working and Galasso doesn’t think he stole them from a package on the shelves, I don’t see why anybody else would care he has them, either… =)
Oh come now; Rainbow Dash may start every episode a little self-absorbed and hotheaded, but she always learns her lesson by the end of it. At least when it comes to lessons involving her. Other episodes she’s still just Dash.
yeah, but she’s a little less hot-headed with each new episode. She’s not gonna completely change, but she is getting to be a deeper and more complex character.
Yes, and then by the beginning of the next episode, any lesson even remotely related to humility, respect, or acting like a decent friend at all has been completely forgotten. You said it yourself–she starts EVERY episode in the same state as she was prior to learning her most recent lesson. Part of learning something is not completely forgetting/ignoring it 24 hours later.
I like Robin because she’s at least fun, a bit scatterbrained, and otherwise well-meaning. Miko is a self-important little brat who has gotten her friends almost killed on more than one occasion because she wants to see the action or keep Bulkhead on a leash.
Yeah, Robin doesn’t usually physically endanger her friends (and actually saved a few of them from the Axis of Something once).
She does occasionally mess around with their relationships, but in her own way she is trying to help them. She just first wanted more drama, and then wanted less.
Which, in a way, kinda makes her similar to some of the fans who don’t like her, I think. Some of them think she is too goofy and immature, and others think she causes too much heartache and want to get back to Batman jokes.
Meh, I hate Miko and all her annoyance (and hope for some keen character development from her in Season 2). But I have no real issues with Robin. Conflicting…
Is that Iron Man Operation?? whut
Yeah. I’ve seen it at the Wal-Mart I work at. It’s as odd in real life as it sounds.
My neice has Dalek Operation, which is awesome.
If The X-Files hadn’t been cancelled before the string of licenced Operation games, we could have had an Alien Autopsy game…
… Now I want Dalek operation so bad. Daleks make everything better.
On an unrelated note, I think December next year is the 50th anniversary of their first appearance.

Yeah, they also made a Mater from Cars version as well. That’s disturbs me on many levels.
No, I won’t say it, it’s way too easy!
C’mon! You know you want to!
I always saw Robin as more Pinkie Pie.
I’m agreeing with you on this. Also,
Amber = Twilight Sparkle
Leslie = Fluttershy
Ultra Car = Rainbow Dash
Mike = Applejack
Ethan = Rarity
I like the others, but how the does Mike = Applejack?
Mike could be Discord. Maybe Ken can be Applejack.
Applejack=honesty. And Mike is brutally honest.
There are few characters whose honesty involves so much brutality. Applejack is not among them. (Rainbow Dash hits a Dan level of honest from time to time.)
I see Galasso as The Great and Powerful Trixie!
I can’t decide if this is amusing or disturbing so i will call it dismusing.
I don’t know, I kind of like aturbing…dismusing sounds like it would be defined as something that discourages thinking…rather the opposite of this conversation that is both amusing and disturbing.
Just a thought. Though “aturbing” also doesn’t do it justice.
You’re kidding. Twilight Sparkle is Best Pony, while Amber is Worst Character.
Everyone can like Rainbow Dash! RD’s like Neapolitan Ice Cream, always at least one part about her you can like.
“Half”?
Really, she never learns anything. Ever. You would think after a while, somebody in charge would notice that and do something about it.

“Your memory’s been set to read-only all this time? How did you not notice?”
“I noticed, but I wasn’t allowed to save the fact that I’d noticed. Read-only, you know.”
Henh? What is this from that I have not seen?
In other words: The only reason that the Autobots haven’t put a perimeter fence around the earth bridge is because the writers cannot figure out some other way to drive a plot that doesn’t involve the Autobots being negligent to the point of child abuse.
I love Robin.
Wait, that set was Canada only? Whoo! Something that I got is only available to my area and not the 800 targets we don’t have!
As a Canadian, I’d be very willing to buy and send Robin as many Mikos as she wanted.
who is miko???
Info on Miko Nakadai.
Took my advice, huh?
Oh wait, no, that was Bulkhead, my bad.
Good luck with it all the same!
I won’t lie. I don’t know who Miko is, but, NOW, thanks to that last panel, I have to draw fanart of Robin riding on Rainbow Dash’s back!

DO EET!
“Half”?
…okay, yeah, that’s actually probably a fairly accurate measurement.
My Toys R Us has like 50 packs, they are having a hard time selling them, they want 30 bucks for a pack, I am open to trades
A) What would you like it traded for? B) How’s their stock of Arcees, Cliffjumpers, and Bulkheads?
Oh please, Robin. Rainbow Dash is 20%, no scrach that, 100% cooler than Miko ever will be.
Ethan’s expression in the last panel.
Too bad Robin’s cast isn’t as forgiving.
They’re still speaking to her, aren’t they?
I’d make a joke about Miko, but really I’m more curious why Ethan just randomly brings his TFP human figurines to his retail job. It’s not exactly like he’s an office drone who can display them in his cubicle…

I’m wondering how Robin is still standing upright after yesterday’s strip…
She DOES have superpowers.
And Amber has a tummy toad. The chase is actually still going on right now, Robin just stopped to chat while Amber is winded.
“Robin, you’re the new Rainbow Dash.”
“No Robin, you are the ponys.”
And then Robin was Rainbow Dash.
Scarily enough, I get that.
I wish I didn’t.
Oh come now; Rainbow Dash may start every episode a little self-absorbed and hotheaded, but she always learns her lesson by the end of it. At least when it comes to lessons involving her. Other episodes she’s still just Dash.

something rarely seen in just about any TV show.

Yes maybe that’s it.
Robin just stated by some of the ShortPacked fanbase can’t stand her and why a lot of the Transformers Prime fan base hates Miko.
I like Robin because she’s at least fun, a bit scatterbrained, and otherwise well-meaning. Miko is a self-important little brat who has gotten her friends almost killed on more than one occasion because she wants to see the action or keep Bulkhead on a leash.

Well, I think that was the point.
Robin just summed up why she’s my… second? I dunno, maybe first favorite character.
and first favorite character sounds stupid. but leaving out first makes that statement not make sense. woooo! no good way of writing that!
dammit i need a miko
To attend to your Hot Shot shrine?
Hmmm…does this mean Faz is Spike? And Galasso is Princess Celestia?
“Dear Princess Galasso…” “Stop wasting Time and tell Galasso how to conquer the world with friendship!”
As fun as a Transformers comic always is. Gotham City Imposters just came out. Comic watch strip 1 now.
Yay!! Canada got something that the US didn’t! A refreshing change of pace to say the least.
As for me, my favorite character in Prime is Arcee.
Meh, I hate Miko and all her annoyance (and hope for some keen character development from her in Season 2). But I have no real issues with Robin. Conflicting…
I love you Robin. I love you all the more.
She hasn’t seen “The Mysterious Mare Do Well” yet, has she?
ummm shouldn’t she be hiding from the very angry pregnant lady she knocked up?
Robin fights aliens and the Axis of Something, what’s Amber going to do?
Beat her to an inch of her life with pop toy of hers.
More MLP references?
Do you plan to bring Sodomuffin back one of these days? XD
I’m wondering if Willis will let Randy “borrow” Sodomuffin for the current storyline going over in Something*Positive…
I’d love for Sodomuffin to actually appear in the new MLP series.
I’m rather surprised by the lack of Miko, considering she seems to be more popular than the two boy characters when I talk to Prime fans.
I’m pretty sure Miko’s exactly WHY I stopped watching Prime after that five-part premiere.
Weird, I know. At least with Robin though she does tend to have her strong points to balance her out.
I just got that set (it’s at Toys R Us in America now). The Miko’s on my desk right now.
