No, I don’t buy this explanation. It assumes every person is the same in the inside and nothing could be further from the truth (unless you’re speaking in a literal sense, in which it’s totally the truth, what with all we having all the same organs inside and such).

I really don’t like this girl. I like Mike and Faz even though I’d hate both in real life because they’re fun characters and they have different character traits and defects besides “being an asshole”. Malaya, on the other hand, has none. She seems to be written to be hated.

Thank you, but I doubt it would matter for Amber that murder. Splinter by other way… And yes, I speak spanish, “bueno” sounded weird because it means something like “although”, so I was expecting a “then” until I re-read the sentence. xD

I get the feeling I’ve missed something. Mal is maybe not the most sympathetic character ever, and a little impulsive/short tempered, but I can’t see where all the hate is coming from, especially after the last few strips… I can still see where her thoughts and feelings are coming from and emphasise with them somewhat :-/

I know much worse people IRL…

Did anyone else notice that Malaya telling Amber that she’s a “chill boss” actually is a significant change in her attitude?

She only took the job because her roommates basically forced her to, and she had every intention of getting herself fired at first. Now her personal motivation for staying, being close to Leslie, is no longer a factor but still she’s sorta-kinda making nice with her boss (incompetently, since she’s pretty inherently abrasive).

They’ve worked together for month’s, and she’s Leslie’s one day ex. If Amber barely knows her, it’s because she can’t be bothered.

Also the thing about Amber being Leslie’s best friend, and Malaya’s supervisor, so in really every way the burden is on Amber in this social situation.
