It’s another year of Transformers and Halls and Fames! And yet again, there’s a Beast Wars guy in the fan-selected nominees! I’m gung ho for 2010′s Dinobot and I enjoy 2011′s Waspinator, but I have to tell you, Beast Wars Megatron is genuinely my favorite Transformers character of all time. And once Hasbro let us know that even though they auto-inducted “Megatron” for the first year of the Hall of Fame, it didn’t mean we couldn’t fan-nominate the young upstart who took his name, traveled into Earth’s past, and blew off Optimus Prime’s head!
So I’m voting BW Megs. There won’t be a storyline or anything pushing for him this year like I did for Dinobot, but I just thought I’d let you know the voting has begun.
(Though if Sky Byte wins instead, I won’t be pissy or anything.)
I voted for Arcee just now. Though, now that I’m thinking about it, maybe it’d be more fun to spam Rodimus until voting closes.

Gotta say, the transmetal version of BW Megatron was my favourite. The original T-Rex just didn’t compare, and the red dragon version, while a very cool toy, just looked a bit over the top.

So, does “Rodimus” represent Hot Rod, Rodimus Prime, or both? I mean, I’d be voting for him either way, if the most awesome cartoon villian of all time wasn’t present on the list.

Because there’s apparently some sort of algorithm that decides your Gravatar here if you haven’t gone through the process of actually selecting one. It’s based on your name, so the name “xero” will always have that Gravatar.
I think I’ll put in a vote for Sky Byte. Sorry, but we’ve had 2 Beast Wars characters as fan choices for the past 2 years. We need to move on.
And Megatron is already in. They’ve made an exception to consider BW Megs as a seperate character, but I say its good enough as it is.
Sky-Byte gets my vote too. SURE Beast Wars Megatron is cool and all, but Sky-Byte is from a generation that is just finally getting respect again from the fans and Hasbro. I’d like to see him win so maybe some of those characters can see the light of day again.
Ehh, it’s not like Hasbro’s put out any Beast Wars stuff since Dinobot and Waspinator won in 2010 and 2011.
But if RiD gets more recognition, they might release the DVDs in countries other than the UK.
Well thats a right’s issue. Disney has the cartoon rights, not Hasbro. Or at least they should. They have every other show Saban worked on. (Minus the ones bought by other companies recently like all the Toku adaptations and SPC.)
However Disney might not have them anymore. Samurai Pizza Cats was re-licensed today and Disney should have had that until recently.
Then again up until recently RID was ignored, and now all of a sudden Hasbro is acknowledging it. It’s possible they worked out a deal.
Long story short: No one knows what’s up with half the shows Saban dubbed. No indication Disney still has them, no indication Disney doesn’t have them.
But anyway. I thought I had posted before but guess not. Just trying to be a bit optimistic. I mean no new Beastformers figures is understandable (Though very upsetting). Hasbro seems to not be as interested in them lately for some reason or another. But RID had a lot of car characters that could possibly see the light of day more recently. Yeah it’s unlikely, but can’t hurt either.

So with this hall of fame voting, it’s just for a character, not a specific toy? Because Beast Wars Transmetal Megatron is totally the best ever. But then if I’m voting for Rodimus, does that mean original Hot Rod, Rodimus Prime, or Masterpiece? I mean, Masterpiece could definitely give BW Megatron a run for his money….

In most cases it isn’t even one character. Arcee is all the Arcees, Rodimus is all the Rodimuses, Wheeljack is most of the Wheeljacks (but probably not Armada Wheeljack), and Sky-Byte’s picture is the BotCon dude.
Megatron will win or he will travel back in time and fix the votes so he can win.

I would have to wonder, though, why Hasbro hasn’t put up a BW character on their own. I mean, if BW Megatron wins this year (and I think he will) that will make three years in a row with BW character’s taking home the prize. Hasbro needs to get around to doing a BW character in their apointees to see if the votes won’t go another way then…
I have nothing to base this on, and this is pure speculation, but somehow I suspect if Megatron does win this year, we’ll see Optimus Primal auto-inducted in the future.

Beast Wars Megatron was my favorite transformer when I was a kid. He’s also one of the few figures I bothered hunting down as an adult and buying (not that big a fan of Transformers as a toy). Go Megs go!
