Whee, my Aquagirl/Static/Micron set arrived in the mail today! Not only are there no Batmen or Supermen in this three-pack, but there are, amazingly, absolutely no white dudes in it. This is actually a set of two black guys and the Little Mermaid. Obama’s America, folks.
The big draw here, obviously, is Future Static. Seriously, eff yeah, man.
Aquagirl would be a closer second if she didn’t look weird or have unpainted sculpted Justice Lord Wonder Woman high heels because she’s supposed to be barefoot. She’s a great companion to Hawkgirl and her flesh belt. I have a rubber band wrapped around her ankles because her legs came all warped.
Micron’s okay.
This leaves us with only Green Lantern and Future Barda as the only members without toys. S’too bad. Green Lantern would be an entirely new sculpt, though, so I can see why he was avoided. Barda… is probably a just new head on the standard female body? But since this is the Last Of The Last of JLU, they obviously ain’t happening.
That future Static figure is fantastic! I’m really impressed by him. I regret not buying more of the JL / JLU figures, I seriously slacked off at the time. Just Hawkgirl, and then years later I picked up a couple of three-packs that showed up at the local “Winners” store. I mean, one of them included prison-clothes Luthor! So I can have Luthor in jail, perpetually contemplating his next escape!
Up until I read the rubber band part in the post I was wondering why the hell he’d have her pants round her ankles for?

I’m beginning to think the conclusion of this toyline is a lie & Mattel will keep selling them until the end of all things.
These were supposed to hit retail last year and be the last of the retail line, but they didn’t, and so here they are.
So what characters from JL/JLU still remain without toys? And I mean named characters.

Nice. Darn Shame Static’s creator is dead. I’d love for a Young Justice young static. To bad that won’t happen.
There’s a high probablity we’ve already /had/ a YJ “Static” – well, Virgil, at least – in the episode with the JL museum scenes (blink and you’ll miss it) – and the “Ultimen” (kidnapped dudes in cyrotubes including Longshadow) it’s pretty much fanon by now that Static’s one of them.
Or, at least, it was when the series went on hiatus. Again. Grr.
Ahh I should have been more clear. I ment a Young Justice Static Action figure. But that line is dead so no chance of a new young Static figure.

I don’t know much about the intricacies of toys and sculpt re-use (despite having dozens of 80′s he-man figures and recognizing it in retrospect) but is it unfair of me to wish she had real feet and not flesh high heels? Because I do. Is it too hard to fix a small detail like that financially?
Has anyone been following the digital DC comics continuing that universe? Batman Beyond, Superman Beyond and Justice League Beyond? Some are okay, some aren’t. But if you like that world, you may like them.
