I’ve decided I want to fill in some of the holes in my Recordicon army. I have a lot of the little cassette dudes, and I’m not too many from having all the guys I could reasonably have. (That is, everyone except the Japanese-exclusive dinosaur tape dudes.) If anybody should have a bunch of Recordicons, it should be the guy who writes Recordicons, right?
I went to the Columbus Toy & Collectible Show today mostly to see my buddy Ron and chat with Pete Sinclair and because it’s a friggin’ toy show, but I also had an eye out for random Recordicons I didn’t have yet but wouldn’t be too unrealistic to see, like … *checks which one is the black one*Rewind or Slugfest.
I did stumble across a meh-looking vintage Rewind and Slugfest, but what I was super happy to find were the Cobalt Sentries, Garboil and Howlback, and for a pretty good price. So damn yes, I have the Cobalt Sentries! And they also, pleasingly enough, compete my army of jaguars and condors, as my photos reveal. I thought I’d have to find them at BotCon, but I’m glad I found them here because that’s one less thing I have to squeeze into my suitcase.
Man, seriously, I will never be able to remember which is Rewind and which is Eject, I swear. I feel like I should know this by now.

Why does your Glit appear to have mismatched lower legs? As for Rewind, he’s the one with the RED visor, though it doesn’t help that the SDCC Blaster gave Eject a red visor too, so the aliteration trick doesn’t work as well anymore.
Glit’s chrome or paint or whatever on his legs is applied unevenly. Or it wore off, who knows.
Yay. It absolutely thrills me that I’m not the only one with that problem.
I’ve always really liked Rewind (double checks… yes, Rewind) even before MtMtE, and not cared much for Eject (not a sports guy) and STILL I accidentally switch the names half the time.
Just remember. RiREiE That is rewind is rewind, and eject is eject. Just like rumble is rumble and frenzy is frenzy (damn the colours)
An easy way to remember which one is which is to remember that Rewind is Chromedome’s black sidekick.
Rewind is the one currently getting played up in MTMTE, Eject is the one who was TOTALLY AWESOME in the Devil’s Due crossover
I love that Rewind is in MTMTE so much! He’s hilarious! “Two questions, 1.) Did you say ‘spark eater’ and 2.) Can I go home now?”
Best line of issue 3.
Um, pretty sure they are inter-changable like Shock and Ore.
Rewind and black are longer words than Eject and blue.
I can never remember which of Rewind and Eject is the black one either (and that’s also the only one of the two I’m after). Does this mean I’m super-not-racist?
Rewind is the historian and he’s black so it looks like he’s dressed up in a suit like a fancy schmancy professor guy. Eject is into SPORTS BABY YOU KNOW IT and is blue like a Joe Average blue collar guy.
I hate to say this, but you might as well look at picking up the KO version of the dino-cassettes. I have Dial And Saur, got them for like 50 bucks (I know, that’s a lot) but they are fantastic! Come in reproduced boxes, with stickers that you apply and everything. Its worth it to fill in the gaps.
I’m missing the Sentry set. Your pictures may have convinced me to pick them up though…..YAY TAPES!
I can see SG Ravage! He’s in the back, not waving.
Technically, since we got a real SG Ravage and I removed the SG Decepticon reprolabel from this one, he’s just Glit again.
Hey David, are you picking up the SDCC-exclusive that comes with the itty-bitty non-transforming Orange Recordicon? (Also, who do you figure the bronze condor is?)
I remember Rewind and Eject because Rewind goes back into history, and an unruly player can be Ejected from the game.
Gold condor is Buzzsaw, duh.
Disappointingly mundane answer is disappointingly mundane.
I also had no clue which was which btwn Rewind/Eject, until MTMTE fleshed out Rewind for me.
