Well, it was up Friday, but if you’re not after a customization class, there’s no rush to tell other folks after those first five minutes. Getting into the customization class was something I indeed managed, but only because I happened to be page-refreshing at the time. I lucked out! I’d just walked away from the other computer, where I was drawing today’s Shortpacked!, with my phone next to me thinking I’d get Twittered. But there’s enough of a delay between the registration physically going up and the Twitter/email notices that you lose a large margin of opportunity for the very limited classes. Hell, I don’t think some people got the email until both classes were sold through. I didn’t get the Twitter notice until I was done registering.
Even though I got in, it’s still discouraging, because I know how lucky I was. I have to remind myself not to get used to getting into these classes, or think of it as a perennial thing. I can’t allow my mind to think I’m “completist” on these customization class figures, or else I’ll get angry when luck doesn’t go my way the next time. It’s just a fun thing to do, David. It’s just a fun thing to do.
I know, I know, first world problems.
Anyway, enjoy tiiiiiiiny pictures of Metalhawk and SG Ultra Magnus. We’ll get to see bigger pictures of them this coming week.

Cuuuuustomize. Cusssstomize.
One day Willis, we will drag you permanently to the dark side of the for… Oh wait you already make a living being creative, never mind.
I have to admit, the botcon transformer on a sprue is so much better than the gum transformers toys I was able to get for my workshop year. Still, only slightly jellous… slightly.
One has some professional curiosity if you’re going to take lots of step pictures this year (which are good for stealing ideas from) . And yes. Its one hell of a fun thing to do. Feel free to hassle me (or perhaps jin) if you want a list of tools that idiots who do far to much of this thing use to make their time go more pleasantly.
SG Ultra Magnus CAN deal with that right now!
hahaha I am so funny
How much do you want to bet that they’ll base his entire personality on that line?
I’m 80% sure that “I can deal with that now” will be his bio card motto. I will 100% roll my eyes at this.
At the least they’ll do something like mention that he can “deal with anything”.
Which day did you get for the custom class? I got the Wednesday class, very excited for it!
Thursday. Which is good, because extra hotel days are $$$!
Meh SG Magnus should have been in Sixshot colours. Diaclone colours is just the easy way out! Makes the set look a little limited colour wise. If it wasn’t for Treadshot’s yellow the whole thing would be red, blue and white.
does anyone know what you can do with general admission? all the different attendee packages sound nice, but they are way out of my price range. i’m interested in going to botcon, but if there’s not going to be much for me to do, i’d rather avoid the 4 hour drive to dallas.
General admission gets you into the show. You can see the vendors and guests, attend panels, stuff like that. But it doesn’t get you the toys.
Oh, except the free attendee figure. I think you still get that.
General attendees don’t receive the free attendee figure.
General admission’s usually about $20, and is available only Saturday and Sunday.
thanks for the help!
Ah-ha! So THIS is why Methalhawk is joining the cast of the TF Ongoing…
Sneaky IDW, sneaky…
That kind of explains it. I was doing the refresh thing too, but slacked off a little at the end. When I finally refreshed and the registration was up, the tweet came just a second later, and I thought I was in at the beginning. How naive I was.
