HOWEVER: Recently legislation, especially that case where the Supreme Court ruled Freedom of Speech applied to them and their money, has been treating them as people in additional respects, primarily those that are advantageous to them, which not only goes against the intent, but makes them even more incredibly powerful since many of the limiting factors that apply to individuals still don't apply. Basically, it started out as an okay idea and then people started stretching the rules to change the system into something more abusable.
