People! I have returned from my WEEK LONG archive binge!

Through Roomies and beyond I’ve read, I’ve seen the horrors of lessons learned in the Great Shit Storm of ’99, I’ve seen the dark secrets of SEMME and the horrors of the Martian Invasion! I’ve seen the continuation of that saga in both the relationship of her they call Joyce, and him the call Walky – as well as in the Toystore hijinks of those who belongeth to the comic strip called Shortpacked(exclamation mark). I’ve even looked at what could have been, through the looking glass into the world of Dumbing of Age!!

CHEESES! NEVER AGAIN! O.o CONTINUITY OVERLOAD!

1) I bet nobody who did a Mega Man sprite comic ever published several books and sold them at conventions. Were they making a living off their advertising?
2) It doesn’t matter what fair use is. I could be using Batman fairly, and DC could still send me a Cease & Desist email and I’d have to take all of it down. Why? They have a lot more money and lawyers than me.
3) Frankly, I only do Batman parody comics when I get ideas for them. There will never be a hypothetical increase in Batman parody comics. You are already getting all the Batman ideas I have. I don’t want to do crappy Batman parody comics.
4) I want tacos.

Hmm, I wonder just how far you can coast under the ‘fair use’ umbrella? I mean, it would obviously be your ass if you ever had Batman go off the meds and pull the drama tag, but as long as you kept things like this, would you be safe?

I mean, I’ve never heard of any of those sprite comics being shut down, though admittedly their sources were across the pond. Was that the only reason, do you suppose?
