I’m pretty sure Lea Michele (Rachel Barry) and the guy who played Jesse were both on Broadway. Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) was an understudy for the same show, Spring Awakening.

My friend wants to chime in: “Zero Broadway experience doesn’t really mean anything. The Kevin McHale (Artie) was in a boy band. Cory Monteith (Finn) is a drummer for an indie rock band. Mark Salling (Puck) has two albums out. Heather Morris (Brittany) has been one of the lead back-up dancers for Beyoncé. Two of the newest members to the spotlight, Chris Colfer (Kurt) and Amber Riley (Mercedes) may not have a lot of experience but they have clearly proved themselves during the episodes of the show. Broadway experience isn’t everything.”

Well, I’m sure Leslie would be fine with Robin sleeping with another man IF they had previously agreed that Robin was free to do that. However, since they might have not discussed terms of intimacy exclusiveness, it was generally assumed that their relationship would have them seek emotional and physical intimacy with ONLY each other. That’s why Leslie is upset. Robin and Leslie both had some understanding they would be intimate with only each other. Robin crossed the line so Leslie is allowed to be upset over that.

It would be different from your relationship because both of you may have discussed your boundaries. And that’s a good thing to do, especially to avoid any unnecessary jealously.

That has actually always been my take on the situation. The storyline was cute, but I don’t think Robin made the best choice by choosing to be with someone just cause that someone wanted to be with her.

Man, I might be about to invite some hate.
Maybe this is a good thing. Maybe Robin really shouldn’t have been with Leslie in the first place, because there’s an argument that maybe she’s not actually… sexually attracted to Leslie.
Leslie IS awesome. No, Awesome. Capital “A”. And she (at least previous to now) has loved Robin unconditionally. Being awesome, dependable, flattering, awesome, caring, nurturing, awesome… can sometimes make things confusing. Some gay people end up getting talked into marrying a nurturing straight friend. Sometimes that doesn’t work when years later they remember, “Oh yeah, I’m gay.” Heck, sometimes straight people marry straight people they aren’t attracted to because the other person is Awesome… just not physically/chemically compatible.
Way back in like July of 2009, Leslie and Robin were together but not really bangin’. In fact, I think Robin had issues with even being in an intimate bubble with Leslie, and she doesn’t strike me as somebody with a lot of physical hang ups. Roz shows up points out how dependable and emotionally available Les is, and Robin goes all licky style on Les. But after they sleep together, Robin asks Les a bunch of questions that all amount to, “You’ll NEVER hurt me, right?”
Don’t get me wrong, the entire story arc is VERY sweet. And I could be wrong. It could be about Robin getting over her anxiety over somebody earnestly loving her, learning to accept her own feelings and the genuine nature of Leslie… BUT there is room for doubt if you read it a different way. That could be a story about love of a different sort getting mixed up in romantic love. It could be a story about a young woman who’s never been on the receiving end of a love that powerful responding with… gratitude. And not realizing that.
I’m not even necessarily saying Robin is not gay/bi. BUT… I might posit… that she was never really honestly attracted to Leslie in the first place. I’m willing to let myself be convinced otherwise though.

Robin is better with someone else. How do you look yourself in mirror knowing you mate is amazing when not with you?
