I think Mike is being sincere, akin to professional courtesy. Mike is such an asshole, he's a force of nature about it. Robin's behavior could be described as asshole-ish. In fact, her asshole behavior was so epic, it changed the world. I think Mike is tipping his hat, acknowledging her craftsmanship in asshole-y.
