I gots an e-Hobby 3-pack! It came with a pointless translucent Hot Rod, a potentially redundant Kup, and this third guy who I actually wanted. How much of the rest of the set will I be selling off? Further news as events warrant!
The guy I wanted was Scrapheap, who is a Junkion. He’s not the first non-Wreck-Gar Junkion toy to be made, but he’s the second! The first was Detritus, an e-Hobby redeco of Hound from several years back. I don’t have him. Though with the potential for an actual Junkion army, I kind of want to now. Oh well! No big. Not like he can ride anybody. He was, as I noted, a G1 Hound redeco.
Scrapheap’s a retool of Reveal the Shield Wreck-Gar. In addition to Wreck-Gar’s head, the mold has two other generic Junkion heads, and Scrapheap uses one of them. There’s no plans yet to use the third anywhere, but it’ll probably be a long while before that happens, what with the third live-action film imminent. Scrapheap gets his name from a list of Junkion names that one of the original cartoon model designers came up with for the other Junkions. The Ark: A Complete Compendium of Character Designs applied the name to a prominently-featured generic Junkion, but this toy’s head seems to belong to the guy the Ark book dubbed “Rubbish.” D’oh!
The colors I’m a little lukewarm on. It’s just chocolate brown, bright red, and a few shades of silver. It’s a little boring. I mean, yeah, Junkions are earthtone colors, but I feel like I would have preferred something a little more vibrant.
Not that it matters too much. This guy’s probably going to be spending a lot of time in motorcycle mode. The Wreck-Gar/Scrapheap mold is designed to ride itself. …if you know what I mean. There’s two pegholes on the motorcycle seat and two corresponding pegs on the underside of the robot mode pelvis. There’s also slots on the side of the motorcycle that can attach to the robot mode legs of the rider. That’s what the main event is. Scrapheap exists so Wreck-Gar doesn’t literally have to ride himself. He can ride this other guy that looks 90% like him.
I’m tempted to get Takara’s version of Wreck-Gar and chop off one of my Wreck-Gar’s beards just so I have three distinct Junkions. Hmmm.

I’m hoping that Hasbro decides to release a Junkion v. Sweep two-pack, with minor recolors to the Decepticon, and a variety of head swaps/recolors for the Junkion. Maybe even a case assortment of various different looks!
Best. Two-Pack. Idea. Ever
so, of course, we’ll never see it.
I bought the United Wreck-gar to be RTS Wreck-gar’s motorcycle. Since Scrapheap has his own head mold (and is the most expensive), I thought i’d be a waste to have him stuck in motorcycle mode forever.
United WG obviously doesn’t suffer that issue (in spite of still being expensive). His shiny paint makes him look like something a biker would love to ride, too.

(and I totally re-purposed United WG as http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Second-in-command_Junkion )
Me, I have all the iterations of Wreck-Gar’s mold, plus an extra Hasbro one to use as a bike.
Quite honestly, I don’t think that the United version is all that bad in botmode.
What’s the World coming to when a man is considering Shaving his toys…
Heheheh! But kitbashing is quite common.
Would it be weirder if he added little wigs to his figures?
(And now, for some reason, I’m picturing Wreck-Gar gazing at extra scrap parts from fallen ‘bots and then doing the Wild Bill “kooky dance” from “Silence of the Lambs… =o “Would you do me?”)
I usually* like motorcycle TF’s so I’m gonna have to track down this new Wreck-Gar mold and then hope to find one of the cast/copy noggins from Scrapheap to make my own character.

*The things that were “TF2:RotF” sisters/clones/whatevs had nice alt modes, but the bot modes were “WTF”-ish so I skipped ‘em…
I think Scrapheap is a bit too expensive to just have him stuck as a motorcycle.
There’s also that fan-created kit that’s a bunch of extra body armor and a new head for the Wreck-Gar mold. It’s done by a guy called Maiden Japan.
(I forget whether you like or hate the third party stuff. I can’t keep track of which of my friends care about it without a scorecard.)
Yeah, I bought some of Maiden Japan’s stuff to build my Junkion army, just amazingly good quality. On the opposite end of the quality spectrum, here’s a quick snapshot I took of my little army so far: http://tinyurl.com/6a2b5pn
So nobody has to waste as much of their life hunting down where to see/order the Maiden Japan stuff as I did:

Anyone pose the Blue Rodimus from the 3 pack in the Protector Armor yet?
Not that I’ve seen. I don’t have Protector, so it can’t be me.
At first glance, the top photo looks like he has a Christmasy reindeer for a leg.
Question- does he have the same hand bends and gets white lines because the weapon is just a smidge too big that the regular Wreckgar has?
That is not a problem with either of my two versions of this mold.
really? lucky… mine has a new little white line just along knuckle on the inside of his hand, almost as bad as my g2 style prime and the stressmarks from his sword.
Perhaps you could buy Universe Hound, customize him into Detritus, and have him ride his friends.
