Yeah, but if they weren’t, they’d make a great couple. And it wouldn’t be at all outside Willis’ normal operating parameters to explore a character’s attraction to somebody outside their usual orientation.
Also: the ship cares not for your “facts” and “logic.”
What we have here is confusion over medical terminology. The problem here isn’t Asperger’s, it’s Assburgers Syndrome.
Asperger’s Syndrome is a form of high-functioning autism consisting of difficulty picking up on social cues, which sometimes results in sufferers acting inappropriately.
Assburgers Syndrome is a form of low-brainpower douchebaggery consisting of 15-year-olds on the Internet finding out about Asperger’s Syndrome and thinking “Aha! I like acting inappropriately, therefore I must have Asperger’s, therefore I have a Condition, therefore I’m totally justified in acting inappropriately because you can’t help it if you have a Condition amirite?”, which sometimes results in chuckleheads trolling message boards and calling people “fags” during games of Counterstrike.
Neither has a known cure, but Assburgers can sometimes be mitigated with hard punches to the mouth.
Reading the comments @ TNI nearly gives me a panic attack over how awful toy collectors are. Unfunny, arrogant obsessives who dissect a three panel comic. I want to assume it’s mostly out of jealousy, but… urghhh. They’re the worst. <: /
To be fair, a lot of the people here who follow the long form Shortpacked comics seem to take them quite seriously. What’s weirder, having fun at the expense of a weekly comic strip or actually caring enough about these Shortpacked characters to know all about them?
I’m just talking about how seriously people seem to take these comics. It is assumed, by all of the odd comments at TNI, that everyone who makes fun of the comic takes it too seriously. How is that any different from all of the people here who know so much about the Shortpacked characters and obsess over these stories? I’m always surprised at how quickly the comment count reaches over 100 for the story-based strips posted here.
With all the speculation going on about Ethan/Leslie, I wonder if a new ship is sailing.
What part of ‘both of them are gay’ do people not seem to understand? They do, however, have something of a sibling like relationship going on.

In general, shippers work under the assumption that everyone in the universe is bisexual.
What, TWO gay characters in the same strip? That’s preposterous!
Given Ethan’s experience with Matty, he shouldn’t count his chickens before they’re hatched.
In this case, ethan might just GO TO SDCC to get it.
Then it’s very likely that Ethan will not only get “Matty’d” but also “SDCC’d”.
Watching the TNI commenters jump through hoops to find something to complain about is half of the fun of these strips.
It’s like a competition to see who can be the biggest indignant Aspie.
That’s an insult to indignant Aspies.

Mocking something is WAYYY COOLER than caring about something! Because liking stuff is GAY. Only TOTAL FAGS enjoy things!
