So I ordered a lot of new Reprolabels sets after their recent update, which was a great idea because most of my toys are still packed away. I got to do some digging!
I was most excited for the Reveal the Shield Perceptor upgrade set because of the monocle sticker. One of the reasons I liked RtS Perceptor is that he reminded me of Perceptor’s appearances in Last Stand of the Wreckers, and the only important visual detail that got in the way of Complete LSotW Power was the lack of a monocle. The upgrade sticker set comes with three of them, because it’s hard to apply and they’re easy to lose. They’re tiny. They’re super tiny. And getting them onto the face itself is really challenging, since it’s a recessed area smaller than the tip of my finger. I lost the first of the three, managed to get the second onto the face, pushing it up into place with a prong of a fork, and then realized that I needed the third one as well. Just one sticker doesn’t really over the eye that well. I used both.
The rest of the stickers are pretty good, but not as important to me. It’s nice to get some color on his stomach, since that was a silver piece on the original toy, and I think the tech readouts look better than the gray windows they cover up. There’s some smaller stuff as well, like the headlight stickers and the “14X” and “United States of America Antarctic Program” stickers.
The one set of stickers I used but wasn’t sure about are the ones that go on the thighs. They call back to the original toy, but I don’t know if I think they’re attractive. I might remove them later. I’m not sure.
And I’m certainly not replacing the rub sign faction symbol with a normal Autobot symbol, no. I love that gimmick. IS PERCEPTOR AUTOBOT OR DECEPTICON????

When I first started buying Classics figures last year I thought the rubsign gimmick was cool, but I’m over it now, and have been replacing them with real faction logos, not as fun to play with perhaps, but it looks better on my shelves.
I’m a big fan of ReproLabels stuff. If I had some money right now I’d order a bunch of them, including Perceptor, and especially the set for the PE-11 SFX set.
I’m still waiting for the reveal the shield stuff to hit my area. Seems like I get everything a year or two late up here in the inland northwest. I may have to resort to paying inflated priced online at this point.
This is unfortunate, because as I FREAKIN LOVE the way he looks in robot mode, his auto mode is kinda ‘eh’, and I was expecting some sort of super-cool scanning electron microscope or something. Ah, well. I guess tape recorders and microscopes and cameras that split into three crappy robots dont appeal to ankle-biting whippersnappers these days. Dang them with their interwebs and poking-monks and Justin Beavers.
Toaster too. Scalpel and Ejector seemed to linger more than the other scouts.
for what it’s worth, i like the stickered thighs.
Perceptor has a guard cover over his rubsign! DOES HE HAVE SOMETHING TO HIDE?
Can he hold Blurr’s sniper rifle? I have both of them, but I haven’t tried it yet. I think I only bought Blurr in the first place to get the sniper rifle.
Yes he can and it looks awesome. Plus, Blurr could race the short to its target. Why would he even need it?
Barely. The sniper rifle has a flattened handle that doesn’t play nicely with Perceptor’s open hands, but it’s doable.
Do you have a close-up shot of the monocle sticker applied?
Makes me want to head out and pick up one of the leftover RTS PErceptor still lounging on pegs around here… those window stickers really make it come together better.
Hey Willis
What if
Bear with me
What if Cutie Mark Crusaders with rubmarks?
