First of all, the Robin statues are shipping! I haven’t gotten mine yet, but reports are coming in and credit cards are getting charged. Watch for yours!
Way back in 2005, I did a comic for 24 Hour Comic Day, and created a self-contained out-of-continuity 24-page story about the Head Alien and Monkey Master from It’s Walky!. That story’s seen the Internet, but never print! UNTIL TODAY.
It’s been repackaged as an in-universe artifact from Dumbing of Age, my other webcomic where the Head Alien and Monkey Master only exist as fictional characters from a popular cable network cartoon. All 24 pages are represented in this black-and-white comic book, as well as a “letters page” in the front that delves into the history of the “Dexter & Monkey Master” franchise in the Dumbing of Age universe. Also, there’s a spot on the inside cover for me to sign and/or doodle on if you ever see me in person! Find it in the store.
Also, woo, now that I’m home, I can get back to some outstanding orders from the store. Hooray!

So let me get this straight. Dumbing of Age only has fictional alien and monkey, but actual Leslie Lesbian.
Shortpacked! has actual Leslie Lesbian and actual Robin DeSanto and actual Mike and actual Giant Mutant Honeybun.
It’s Walky! has actual Mike, and Robin Desanto, and Giant Mutant Honeybun, and actual alien and monkey.
Therefore, Dumbing of Age has actual Monkey and Alien, no?
DAMN YOU WILLIS!!!
I don’t follow.
If Shortpacked! and It’s Walky! are in the same universe, how is Shortpacked! Leslie in Dumbing of Age, but Alien and Monkey nothing but fiction in Dumbing?
And while we are on it… If Willis is in Shortpacked!, but Monkey and Alien are only fiction, thus making Shortpacked! and It’s Walky! only fiction, then Willis is only fiction?
I am so confused.
You’re getting your universes crossed, Dawgboy. It’s Walky! and Shortpacked! take place in one fictional universe, while Dumbing of Age takes place in another unrelated universe. Same people, different world, different history.
It might help to think of it like Joss Whedon’s TV shows. The same actors keep showing up, but that doesn’t mean that Buffy and Angel take place in the same fictional universe as Firefly.
I think Walky World 2 (a la DC’s Earth 2) makes more sense, but I was looking at Dumbing more as a post zero hour revision (same universe, with minor changes and tweaks, and timeline reset for some characters), instead of a alternate universe all together.
Still, since Willis is in the Shortpacked! continuity, which is only fiction in the Dumbing continuity, I maintain that Willis is fiction.
Yay! Shenaningans! Hijinks! Woot!
This is starting to sound like a discussion about DC’s Infinite Crisis series…
This looks so great! If I had money and/or went to cons this would so be mine. Oh, birthday present list…
Will you have these at Comic-Con 2011? Plan to be there (assuming SDCC ever opens registration), and I like to buy stuff while I’m there.
