I was gonna make a bigger post later on, but apparently they’re, like, 50% sold out of Primus Package sets already. So, uh, yeah, Animated seems to be doing pretty well for Fun Publications. Run over there and sign up for some expensive toys if you desire them, before it’s all gone.
Me, I’m just really thankful I was able to get the Customization Class thing. I’ve never tried to do it before, but the idea of an Animated character in toy form that I don’t own sounds like a horrible thing that would destroy me. (Okay, it could be a nonAnimated mold if there are any nonAnimated souvenir add-on sets, but that’s much less likely, given the statistics.)
Glad I drove home early from C2E2.

Wanna hear a funny story?
That timer thing ran out when I was reading some stuff for the international shipping, and badoom, I had to re-type everything.
And the last primus package was bought.
Ouch, Batman… I’d sell you mine for an outrageous markup, but alas, I couldn’t afford the price of admittance to start with. Being a part-time college teacher is like taking a vow of poverty.
But yeah… I want the new animated figs, too, especially Dragstrip (my wife bought me a Classics Dragstrip a while back, AND loves Arcee, so it’s like combining two cool wifey things in one).
I’m right there with you on the customization class. (Except I HAVE tried to sign up before and failed every time) I was always curious, but this year I felt like I HAD to have it.
Given the customization class’s tendency to offer two alternate customizations… aten’t you going to be down an Animated toy anyway?
They haven’t offered two characters since 2006. And only in 2006.
I’m impressed you were able to get into the customizing class. It really seems that these days you have to jump on it within the first 10 minutes or it is lost. I totally missed out this year.
Knowing what I know from past customizing classes, and how often there are people who bring a bunch of family members with them (making your feat even more impressive), I think they should move to a lottery system for the class.
But at least we’ll have a good look at the toy.
I got in by having my phone alert me whenever BotCon twitters anything. Yesterday I got the Twitter message, was already sitting at my laptop (when am I ever not at my computer?) and checked out as quickly as possible.
Suddenly I kick my luddite, non-cellphone wielding ways…
