It’s holiday time and I’m on the road! Well, on the plane. To Miami. To visit folks! Look, nobody reads comics the week between Christmas and New Years anyway, so I don’t know who I’m even typing this out for.
Today’s strip was graciously submitted by Gordon McAlpin, who does a Super Famous webcomic named Multiplex. He drew this by hand with real lines, special, just for me! He has a way with them.

Never saw HTTYD, so…this is over my head no matter what.
Really?? The Toothless figure isn’t missing part of its tail? D= That’s the whole point of the movie!!
Yeah, the first line of toys (when the movie was in theaters) were just generic “Night Fury” figures. No missing tail, no saddle/rig/whatever… It was really weird.
The toy company did modify the figure a bit sometime before it came out on home video, so the current version (still just called “Night Fury,” not “Toothless”) has the rig, but I sent this to Dave a couple of months ago.

So, does the presence of Jason in this strip confirm that Multiplex and the Walkyverse are the same universe?
Getting crowded if so. Singularikitty makes it the same universe as Girls With Slingshots & Something Positive, which puts it of a universe with All-New Issues, Queen of Wands and a bunch of other webcomics that have crossed over with one or the other before. Oh, and It’s Walky! had a same-universe crossover with Melonpool, so add one more.
Won’t be long before this gets to Marvel-level…

Melonpool was a same Multiverse, and IIRC it’s a ‘parallel universe’ Something Positive (where the setting of SP has been moved, and vice-versa for SP) so that they take place in the same city.
Well, since Jason probably wouldn’t go from Chicagoland to wherever Shortpacked takes place just to buy a toy… Probably not.
Besides, as well all know, holiday guest strips don’t usually count.

This is a great guest strip, although seeing Jason hand-drawn is a little odd. Still, funny as hell, even if I never quite “got” Jason’s fixation on this one film. (Maybe that’s because I never saw it, but still.)

The main dragon in the movie never got his own figure. They made a generic figure of the same type of dragon, but not one with the main character dragon’s injury/prosthetics, so he wants to mod the base figure to add the gear the character should have had. (The toy company seems to have mostly corrected this since the comic was made)
I am trying to figure out why Ethan is cutting Batman’s nose. Is he trying to make a Bruce Wayne Batman into a Dick Grayson Batman. Tim Drake wore the costume once. I am unsure of nose sizes.
