Here in the USA the Supreme Court decided that:

A. Corporations are legally the same as organic people when it comes to various legal things, including political contributions (or some equally odd concept) that leads to:

B. Political advertising spending in the tens of million$ for local issues.

Here in WA State, we have local laws to require some indication of where the $$$ is from. Results on various issues (tax on candy, liquor sale privatization, super-majority for taxes etc.) seems to be that something over 98% of the funding is not from (live) people, but corporations (sorry – “corporate people”). I don’t think there is any similar federal law. So most elections most places will be “public” initiatives or such totally devoid of “public”, funded by non breathing “people”.

I’d take a werewolf over those zombies, not that I have a choice.
