Good guess, but no. SS strictly deals with protecting national and foreign leaders (such as the president, vice president, former presidents, presidential families, presidential candidates, diplomats, and anyone the president gives them an executive order to protect) as well as treasury investigations.
I’d also find it humorous if Expensive Appetite turns out to cause some kind of freakish reaction due to it’s mixed breed. Like it takes a week to kick in or something.
And it would be fun if Robin found a way of subtly kicking her sister out. Not her style, but if, for example, Mike still owes her a favor, Roz might end up fleeing the state.
This was written AFTER that forumspring question about End of Evangelion Willis answered with “Too much strangulation,” wasn’t it? I mean, the title’s a dead giveaway…
Transformers: 25th Anniversary Matrix of Leadership Edition [Complete Series]
$59.99
Figured you might like to know about the deal. It’s $152 on Amazon… so this is a bit of a savings. Digitally remastered, the original script for every episode,PSAs, commercials, concept art galleries…
Last time I saw a set even close to that cheap, it was a bad-quality knockoff.
Yes, apparently there are KOs of the G1 Matrix set. To be clear, I’m not saying this particular one is. Just “buyer beware” because some deals really are too good to be true.
Sarcasm dully noted. I obviously misread what your wrote and saw Roz instead of Robin. Glad you were so “classy” about pointing out my mistake though everyone.
Not only is that exactly backwards from anything that would contradict what Kumata said, but I’m pretty sure the the characters never actually disliked Scrappy, except in some crappy live-action thing.
Yeah, the definition of a Scrappy is a character who the characters and/or creators all like but the fans all hate. If characters within the story hate you, you by definition cannot be a Scrappy.
One has to love the fact that despite Robin being oblivious to Roz’s existence in her home for several days/weeks, she still is able to see through her sister’s manipulations. Just remember Robin, if the head pops off, there won’t be candy inside. You only learn that lesson once.
I really hate that “You would’ve tried” comment Roz made in regards to being thrown out. It’s just so cocky. And the truth is, they could still throw her out if they want to. They won’t, but still… They could.
Not a big fan of the name Little Lady. It just doesn’t seem to fit.
Unless it turns out LL is really into Kool Aid. And then everyone starts to call her LL “Kool-Aid”. It still wouldn’t be a very good name, but it would fit the freakishly pink & cute kitty better.
I find it odd that, despite everything this comic says about the personalities of Robin and Roz, also how it proves me both right and wrong about Roz at the same time and raises questions about how easy to manipulate Leslie is, the only part I can truly focus on is the use of the word Frak in the first panel. Considering Willis has no aversion to throwing in the f-word whenever it applies, can we take it that Leslie is a fan of Black Library novels?
*sigh*…all those lessons, all that time on the mat, and she still can’t remember to grab the chin and TWIST. That strangle reflex is a hard one to fight, but it’s a trap. You waste energy and time doing that. when eight pounds of force is all it takes in a little jerk around the neck’s axis…damn rookies…
Seriously, if you really want to strangle someone you just use one hand; that way you can get your fingers all the way around the larynx and cut off the blood supply at the same time. If you push them backwards to the ground like that, the impact even curves the fingers around and digs them in further! Sheesh, it’s like she was never trained by the government to be some kind of fructose-powered murder machine or something.
“Frak” <3 Man, Leslie is the best. If I were a cartoon character, I would want to be her girlfriend. (if, you know, Robin weren't around to beat me up)
Also, ahaha! I love the last panel. You know, I know Roz may do some pretty unpopular things but I've gotta admire her spunk. I mean, a war hero with super powers for a sister is pretty hard to compete with. I find myself liking her bratty little self more and more every week.
okay, so to remind myself I went back through all the Roz tagged strips and you know? I’m not sure what everyone is so up in arms about. Unless I’ve missed something? The worst thing is probably that unicorn comment which, okay, insensitive, but other than that she’s mostly done things that were basically nice. It’s not like she stole a valuble jewel from a foreign galaxy and is planning to frame Robin for the crime when the intergalactic police come after her or anything…
She’s a self indulgent brat who has no regard for anybody else beyond getting the attention she wants from them. She’s not nice, she’s a manipulative little bitch.
If the next week of comics is just Roz getting choked and it gets progressively worse each day, until Friday her head pops, I would totally buy some Shortpacked books in support of such an action. Just saying.
A part of me of course feels that Robin is out of line in the last panel despite how annoying Roz is.
But then I also remember her past actions and the very fact she’s her -sister- and who knows how many years she’s had to put up with similar sorts of crap in different settings and that this. I’d be tempted to do the same thing. Not to mention all the crap she’s thinking she’ll have to oput up with in the futrure with her living with them.
I mean I could deal with Roz and bare it for a short amount of time say a cousin at family reunions but thinking of having her for a SIBLING in my teenage years would drive me up the wall. All the things that had happened in the past not to mention having a much wider and honest experience for such a long time would mean I would NOT want her in my house either.
The desire to choke her would be burning and I’m not especially violent. It would probably push me over the edge too.
I think Robin would have choked her sometime in the past. Roz has the alien power of surviving stranglation and choking, which makes her good at her job. Robin proved she is not above violence by sticking Faz’s head up Sarah Palin’s butt.
I’m rather terrified that, somehow, later, in some unforseeable arc, something will happen with the kitten. Something utterly horrible and Drama Tagerific, and it will be worse for Leslie than her usual reactions, and then the sweet adorable kittenness, no matter how volatile the motivations behind the kittenness, will be ruined.
It suddenly occurs to me that we haven’t seen Roz since this strip… and she’s not in the banner… and the next time we see Robin, she’s acting like nothing happened… oh, dear.
Good to see SOMEone see through the ruse.
Aww, she’s giving her sister a hug. How sweet.
Does Robin know she can still call the cops and have her sister arrested for trespassing?
This is Robin we’re talking about. You’re expectations of her common sense are a weeeeensy bit too high.
She can, but she won’t, because Leslie likes her now and doesn’t want her to.
She’s a senator. I’m pretty sure* she can call the SS and have Roz disappeared.
*i.e. I have no clue what I’m talking about.
Good guess, but no. SS strictly deals with protecting national and foreign leaders (such as the president, vice president, former presidents, presidential families, presidential candidates, diplomats, and anyone the president gives them an executive order to protect) as well as treasury investigations.
or were you talking about the schutzstaffel?
Yeha, I went right to Nazi Germany with his commetn…I hadn’t even thought he oculd mean Secret service… >.>
I actually thought of both, and now have a combo Secret Schutzstaffel bearing down on her ass in my mind.
Oh no, now I have to write some sort of horrible fanfic involving a combination Secret Service-SS-al queda combination!
Well roz is awesome lol
That is highly debatable.
Shortpacked has had it’s Drama tag pulled. If that happens, they’re getting off lightly.
Can’t wait to find out what awesome sci-fi reference Leslie will give the kitty! Babylon 5? Oh, oh! Name it Londo! Or G’kar!
That would be cruel!
It’s a girl kitty, so it should be Delenn or Ivanova.
No, no, Quackers… Perfect B5 cat name.
Frak! They should totally name her Frak!
If a true BSG fan Leslie is, Muffit this ‘cat’ must be named.
Given the smug expression, I’m on Robin’s side here
Agreed. Go Robin!
I know, I know I’ve let you down…
+1
Seconded. Plus 1 internets to you good sir.

(For those NOT in the know: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCLoNOYcVQU)
[Now I'm just wondering if the next few weeks of comics will be following the Walkyverse's Instrumentality. It would help explain Dumbing of Age!]
Nope, I had this strip in the can already.
“Had in the can” should really be reserved for the most stinkers of strips, shouldn’t it?
Oh good. I wasn’t the only one for whom Evangelion ruined that song for.
“Hid in the can” is also something Yoshiyuki Sadamoto said when he began writing. (Hand of God my Foot.)
Wasn’t it WRITTEN for Evangelion? That was my understanding. How could a song’s intended context ruin it?
I thought it was originally a Bach piece?
(wikiwikiwiki… ah…)
“Komm, süßer Tod, komm selge Ruh”
Too bad Roz is totally into choking.
Heey, guys. It’s Firestone coming at you with some old news.

Sold out already. Darn it!
Last time I saw a set even close to that cheap, it was a bad-quality knockoff.
Yes, apparently there are KOs of the G1 Matrix set. To be clear, I’m not saying this particular one is. Just “buyer beware” because some deals really are too good to be true.
Woot is a reliable supplier, and chances are this was overstock from their new parent company, Amazon.
Sorricide del gato.
Yes. Yes. Choke her. Unleash your HATRED. I can FEEL your anger! Your journey to the Dark Side is complete.
Don’t let that be in her imagination.
See, THIS is why Robin isn’t the scrappy anymore.
Really? Because I’m pretty sure most of Mystery Inc. wanted to do to Scrappy, what Robin is doing to Roz.
Thanks for the comment that doesn’t refute my own in any way whatsoever.
Sarcasm dully noted. I obviously misread what your wrote and saw Roz instead of Robin. Glad you were so “classy” about pointing out my mistake though everyone.

Yeah, the definition of a Scrappy is a character who the characters and/or creators all like but the fans all hate. If characters within the story hate you, you by definition cannot be a Scrappy.
Much of that hate seems retroactive or by the non-demographic. Mark Evanier had a neat bit about it a bit back. http://www.newsfromme.com/archives/2007_02_14.html#012936
Wait, some people thought Robin was the Scrappy? Bizarre.
She was in It’s Walky, I believe, and she had her moments during the beginning of Shortpacked!
this is probably the greatest thing ever
It’s such a lovely song, too.
It really is the nicest song I’ve ever slit my wrists to.
The title makes it waaaaaay funnier.
wait… is this cat really a boneless, kitten eating freak like her father?
Perhaps not boneLESS, but certainly flexible enough to fit down a sink drain.
Also probably not kitten eating.
And Roz returns to nothing, it all comes TUMBLING DOWN THUMBLING DOWN THUMBLING DOOOWN!!! xP
Does this mean that Roz and Robin will be left to repopulate the post-apocalyptic Earth? Humanity is doomed.
It was doomed anyways in my opinion… so no much difference XD
One has to love the fact that despite Robin being oblivious to Roz’s existence in her home for several days/weeks, she still is able to see through her sister’s manipulations. Just remember Robin, if the head pops off, there won’t be candy inside. You only learn that lesson once.

Well not really.
I think “Little Lady” is only supposed to be name of endearment, like “cutie” or “Sweetie” not the name she was considering for it.
THANK YOU!
I find it odd that, despite everything this comic says about the personalities of Robin and Roz, also how it proves me both right and wrong about Roz at the same time and raises questions about how easy to manipulate Leslie is, the only part I can truly focus on is the use of the word Frak in the first panel. More likely a Battlestar Galatica reference, since Leslie’s a big Sci-fi fan.
Warhammer 40,000 is sci-fi, and far more obscure to boot.
See Robin, there’s always a solution
Aww thats so sweet. Robin’s thanking Roz like how Apu was going to thank Homer. At least their bonding again.
*sigh*…all those lessons, all that time on the mat, and she still can’t remember to grab the chin and TWIST. That strangle reflex is a hard one to fight, but it’s a trap. The title makes this 500 times better.
hm, then it’s not a reference to Bach, is it?
If a true BSG fan Leslie is, Muffit this ‘cat’ must be named.
Roz has just made a tactical error AND I’M LOVING IT!
Here’s a nice NECK hug to show my appreciation! ;D
Also… ‘FRAK’? XD
“Frak” <3 Man, Leslie is the best. If I were a cartoon character, I would want to be her girlfriend. (if, you know, Robin weren't around to beat me up)

I’ve liked Roz since her first appearance. JUST SAYIN.
Also oh no strangulation.
A part of me of course feels that Robin is out of line in the last panel despite how annoying Roz is.

Nothing is better than a loving relationship between sisters.
Does Robin Desanto have to choke a bitch?
Uh…pretty sure she already is.
It suddenly occurs to me that we haven’t seen Roz since this strip… and she’s not in the banner… and the next time we see Robin, she’s acting like nothing happened… oh, dear.
I just love this title. Although it’d be better if it had the Eszett in it.
Ugh, reading through every comic with the ‘Leslie’ tag led me here…and has now led to me listening to ‘Komm, süßer Tod’ on loop.
I wish…that I could turn back time…because now the guilt is all mine…
BRB, going to commit cheerful suicide…
You’ve gotta be a little proud though, Robin. =>
Anyone else reminded of Bart and Homer Simpson? If that was mentioned already, I didn’t notice due to not wanting to skim through 50+ comments
No one else caught the reference to old German art songs? Just me? Okay then….
