The 'if I can be a super hero so can anyone' appeal of Ronnie, the really smart professor, and managed to get out of his league Firehawk for a while. It's amazing that he turned out to be such a tolerable character despite the obvious "learning is cool" message of the books. Also, those poofy sleeves were totally rad. And yes, that was as awesome as it sounds, at least to an adolescent boy. OTOH, Firestorm was once defeated by an army of stuffed animals, so... yeah.
