Skirts are terrible for mobility. If they’re tight, they constrict movement and ride up (a slit can only help so much), and if they’re billowy, they catch on things and are really easy for an opponent to grab and trip you and/or just yank off.

There’s a reason women like to wear pants that has nothing to do with their appearance as compared to skirts. They are much more practical. I’d hate to try to fight someone in a skirt, or run in one. They are terrible for physical activity.

The problem is that they gave pants to Wonder Woman and then turned Harley Quinn into a slut and turned Amanda Waller from a fat woman to a sexy, fit one. Trust me, those guys are still ridiculously sexist.

This is more of a generic reply to anyone I’ve seen complain abouth her wearing pants now, since surprisingly there’s a lot of people doing that. But to act like its sexist to give her pants? How? Its giving her more clothing so she isn’t running around in what looks like a pair of panties. Its progress, it shows female superheroes don’t have to show any leg to sell books. I’d proffer if her uniform now covered more of her chest, but at least its a step.
The argument about classic and iconic, I’m going to agree with David Willis here, if not for the fact we share the same favourite Batgirl, but because that makes total sense: Iconic or classic doesn’t mean ‘good’. The only reason they’re ‘iconic’ is because nobody’s had the sense to change them.

Patriotic, shmatriotic. Her old costume was nothing special but at least it looked superheroy. Putting her in supercivvies reminds me too much of Diana Prince.

I got these bike pants that look like normal pants with a trim cut but the fabric has 4 way stretch, which means no mobility limitations, I imagine super hero costume makers would know how to make non-limiting sharp looking cloths

Whenever someone says something shouldn’t change without explaining why beyond using subjective words like “iconic” and “classic,” big warning lights flash inside my brain. It was no different when everyone threw a fit when Optimus Prime had *gasp* flames in the live-action movies. Why was it wrong? Because that’s not “iconic” or “classic.” What do those words mean? As far as I’ve been able to tell, those words only ever mean “that’s what I’m familiar with.” And that’s not really compelling to a person who disagrees. Might as well say “because.”

I don’t care about iconic or classic. If I did, my favorite Batgirl wouldn’t be Stephanie Brown.

Actually if you read the comic her costume was modeled after the uniform of Diana Trevor, Steve Trevor’s mother, who crash landed on Themyscira before Diana was born. At the time, the Amazons were charged to protect the world from the evil residing under Themyscira. When Diana Trevor arrived, this evil was threatening go get loose again, Diana jumped in and selflessly sacrificed herself. That is ALSO how the Amazon’s got a gun to perform Bullets and Bracelets.

Now Wonder Woman’s costume is classic so getting rid of that iconic costume for something vastly less remarkable while every other major MALE hero gets to keep their silly costumes just with slight modern touches? I call BS and it just shows how LITTLE DC cares about comics most recognizable female hero.
