Scathing commentary on Faux News. I especially like the graph that adds up to more than 100%. That must have been in reference to the infamous fox graph that added up to 191%.

I keep voting for Choppaface if nothing else just to skew the odds on the GEEWUN RULEZ nostalgia whores who haven’t actually sat down and watched the original cartoon.

(What you think most of them ever read the comics?)

I see the same malarkey in retro electronic gaming. To most US folks you would think there was no other system but the NES and SNES. (I’m sure our UK 80s kids would rightfully bring up their Amigas, Spectrums, and the great Commodore 64.)

So a vote for Dinobot is a vote against Hot Topic esque hipster nostalgia. Its a vote based on the genuine QUALITY of a Transformers show and character (and let’s face it, Beast Wars and Animated are the only shows that can almost entirely be considered GOOD) and not half remembered “My childhood loves are MOST IMPORTANT” silliness.

(Cuz again, nobody read the comics or care about anything past GEEWUN it seems. Otherwise Blaster and G1 Scorponokor Waspinator Animated or G1 Ratchet get my vote. Rattrap and Tigatron and Sky Byte all rank higher than Dinobot too.)

And if that’s Walkyverse Oreally? I can only imagine the pure level of evil and stupidity this reality’s Palin and Beck are. Unless they are really Head Alien’s actual parents. Which would explain a hell of a lot really…

I think the really glaring weirdness about the lineup if Dinobot wins is having 4 characters from the original series and one from a relatively recent spinoff. If you’re only going to have 5 inductees I’d rather see them all from the original series. For a spread of great characters from across the series, it’d be better to have like, 10 spots.

It’s the hall of FAME, not the “Hall of good characters from the best-written series.”

Me, I’m split between Grimlock and Shockwave.

Beast Wars is ‘relatively recent’? It started 5 years after the end of the G1 toyline and Marvel comic (10 years after the G1 cartoon), and ended 12 years ago, to be followed by 5 cartoon series, a movie series, and several toy and comic book series that tie into none of the above. Beast Wars is far closer to G1 than to the present both in terms of time and how many other lines come between them (G1 and BW being separated only by G2).

Actually, I would totally vote for Blaster if it could be made clear that it was “Blaster-from-the-Marvel-Comics” who was getting the spot. Hell, now that I think about it, my leanings toward Grimlock and Soundwave are based on comics portrayals.

    Also, Soundwave:

1.) had several minicassette guys who come out of his chest,

2.) represents the power of Sony over the youth in the 80′s,

4.) came with plastic AA Batteries that turn into a spear/gun laser thing and a cluster-rocket launcher on his shoulder,

5.) had a ‘Peter Frampton-like’ synthesizer voice caused by Frank Welker singing into a can.

Dinobot is a Jurrasic Park Cash-in from the later part of the Reboot era of children’s television. He might as well be that kid from the Heavy Gear cartoon which took a Canadian Votoms rip-off rpg and turned it into a retarded sporting event .

I’ve always thought that a fanfic with Grimlock meeting Dinobot would be awesome:

Grimlock: Me Grimlock leader of Dinobots! Me Grimlock your leader!

Dinobot: For the love of Primus, it’s “I”! “I, Grimlock”, you prehistoric idiot! For once in your pathetic existence use the correct pronoun!

Grimlock: Me Grimlock tried that once when me Grimlock was smart! But then me couldn’t use cool gravely voice, so me stopped.

Dinobot: Wasn’t that when you also refused to transform? A true warrior would never cower behind such a bizarre alternate mode.

Grimlock: You one to talk! You transform all the time to hide from Energon. Me Grimlock not do that.

Dinobot: Not in this reality, anyway.

    Grimlock: What you say?

    Dinobot: Nothing…

Um, okay, that sounded cooler in my head…
