Hey, you folks near New York City! Did you know that to the west, just over the river, there’s this other state? And right there, in this mystical land called “New Jersey,” is the humble town of Springfield. It may or may not neighbor Shelbyville, but it is going to be host to WildPig II. And I’m going to be there on Saturday and Sunday.
And not just me! My webcomics brethren Randy Milholland (Something*Positive), Danielle Corsetto (Girls with Slingshots), and the illustrious Box Brown will also be there. That’s like three awesome people plus me!
I’ll be there with my usual stuff: Comics, posters, stickers, prints, magnets, sketches! You should come see me and my buddies. I’m excited! I’m excited to be in friggin’ NEW JERSEY. Randy Milholland is driving TWENTY-FIVE HOURS from TEXAS to be in NEW JERSEY. So you know this is serious.

Doesn’t Ethan realize that if his state is bankrupt, it’s not necessarily Robin’s fault? State budgets are determined by state legislatures and governors, not members of Congress. Robin would have practically zero influence on state expenditures. Maybe Ethan needs to spend less time on the TF Wiki and more time with a civics textbook, because right now he seems to have the factually unfounded, irrational anti-incumbancy bias of a Teabagging Fox News viewer.

Is it lame to admit I shouted “YES!!!!!” when I read this blog post? I’ve been looking forward to the next Wild Pig for months now (and saving money!) and can’t wait for this weekend.

I live near enough to Jersey that I could have made the trip, but as two other people have said, this is THE weekend that I’m actually going further away from that part of the nation.
It’s almost as if people are fleeing Jersey in droves. Hmmm.
Yeah, it’s unfortunate that the event I registered for coincides with a con. I haven’t been to a con in years, but I do think the writer/artist of Shortpacked! would be enough of a draw to get me out of the house.
On the other hand, maybe we’re like rats and Jersey is due for a localized apocalypse. Take your pick.
