Isn’t this old news? A bootleg Storm Shadow got AFA-graded a few months back.

We’re not talking about grading bootlegged toys, but people putting fake AFA grades on things. (It’s probably not super-new, regardless.)

Hence “counterfeit AFA-graded toys,” not “AFA-graded counterfeit toys.”

        HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Good. The sooner this AFA bullcrap dies, the better.

Darn you, Willis! Why must you always be the one to get such kooky ideas??

Yeah, this news surprised me (perhaps it shouldn’t have), but I agree with Ethan.

I really wonder what the difference is between AFA saying a toy is graded 8.0 and some random dude saying a toy is graded 8.0. It’s not like AFA was put here and approved by Lord Almighty. They answer to no one but themselves. And same as Mr. Criminal who pulls of this hoax, they have a vested interest in grading things high so they make more money. The only difference is the fake transaction number versus the real one. The only thing that makes the one real and the other fake is the number of speculators behind each one. It’s all fake.

I don’t know. I don’t get mint-in-sealed-box collecting, but obviously there’s a demand for it. If they’ve made themselves a trusted source among such collectors, that seems like it’s worth something.

The best thing about the TNI Shortpackeds is that one dude who posts on every single one, explaining the joke in super-thorough detail.

“This is Shortpacked’s commentary on the AFA and how it is kind of a scam.”
“This strip is funny because he couldn’t buy the toy he wanted.”

I’m not sure if it’s an elaborate troll or just some autist.

Ah, Slabbing…is there a collectible hobby that it hasn’t missed the point on?
