Oh no…has the leaked title of the SSP just been misdirection all along? Is it really going to be entitled OMD (One More Day) ala Spider-Man? Say it ain’t so!
It’s really looking like Willis wants to go through with something like the Roomiesverse reboot teased about for last year’s April Fool’s. Since the pay strips aren’t doing anything right now, maybe that’s what we’ll see when they come back – an alternate timeline where everyone goes to college instead of messing around with aliens.
Seriously, one of the best ending scenes ever. Works on multiple drama/comedy levels, provides a tidy epilogue if you want to cut the thread there, and also serves as a perfect lead in for the new series.
Man, Dumbing of Age is gonna be the awesomest. I’ve always liked the Roomies! and J&W! I’ve seen, but the whole alien invasion thing just never clicked for me. DoA will cut the concept down to the most important core elements, namely Willis’s brilliant eye for cracked-but-functional personal relationships among characters who feel like you’ve known them for years even if they only just showed up. Joe Quesada can take his mommy issues and go jump up a friggin’ rope– this is how you reset a continuity and do it right.
Also, indicating that it’s an alternate continuity by not having a ! in the title? genius.
In retrospect, between this, Joyce’s “It seems like the sort of thing I would do if I was 18 again” with regards to Twitter, and “Maybe I’ll revisit the college setting someday” in the Roomies! book, Dumbing of Age should’ve been obvious.
what could that mean
Wow. This brings back a string of memories!
Full colour Walky! I need to get the book when it comes out.
You’re a funny man, Willis. A funny man.
Oh God, Mephisto’s about to break them up, isn’t he.

Excellent.
the comics that make up “Roomies!” and “It’s Walky!” still make me think of Dylan’s “Blood on the Tracks” album.

seems like it or time travel
Now you’re just being mean.
Seems more like an anniversary strip to me.
Also: DAMN WILLIS, Roomies was started after Duke Nukem Forever was announced?
Actually, Jesus Christ, I didn’t even have broadband that long ago.
Is this really a surprise, though?
I’d like to find out.
So, I guess that’s what the Secret Project really will be?
Aww. That was so sweet.
It’s something everyone asks himself at some point, isn’t it? (It’s a dumb question too. Of course you wouldn’t have. …Probably.)
Nice.
Hi now I’m fangirling over the whites of Walky’s eyes.
Dammit…Its Walky needs a freaking movie made of it already. The storyline is enough to warrant an emmy. Er, Oscar. Whatever the movie ones are.

…What.
OH, I get it!
