Considering how slowly he digests -- Jazz, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee and Spike were still alive to be rescued at the end of the movie -- there were probably a lot of Lithones available to use. Assuming they had Sparks like Cybertronians to begin with. If Unicron needed Sparks for the Sweeps, well, at the beginning of the movie he’d eaten a whole planet worth of Transformers. It explains nicely why so many of them could die yet always leave a surplus of reserves.
