This is Shokaract from the BotCon 2000 comic book. This is what he looked like in the original book. Andrew Wildman, the colorist, looooves his Photoshop filters so I thought I’d see what it’d look like if I dropped all that and recolored it, um, vanilla. Now you can see the Geoff Senior artwork more clearly.

Honestly dude… I really like it. I remember that Omega Point comic and I thought “Wow, what the hell happened to Senior?” And it took forever for me to look past the bad coloring and see that it was just that. I’ve recolored older covers and stuff before, like Headmaster #1 and G2 #1… But it never occurred to me to try it with Omega Point. I haven’t really seen a lot of his stuff recolored, it looks great with a more muted, flatter color palette like you used there. Wish I could see the whole issue like that. (Might change my perspective on the story as a whole.)

Is the Plastic Wrap effect ever a good idea?
No. No, not really. Ick.
I too would like to see that story in better color. Or black and white. Or even just Andy’s colors less dark.
