Hahaha, thought it’d be a robot today, didn’t you? Lobo was waiting for me in a MattyCollector box when I got home from BotCon, so I gotta shove pictures of him into this blog some time. Might as well be now!
I always enjoy the entirely new sculpt Justice League Unlimited figures. They feel more “alive” than their usual plop-a-new-head-on-the-standard-body-and-call-it-a-day guys. You can see just how nicely Mattel can sculpt these things when they’re given free reign. In that vein, Lobo is basically perfect. He’s asymmetrical and huge and round and angular all at the same time in different places. Though he only really “works” in a typical standing pose, he’s a joy to look at from all angles.
Not that I wouldn’t balk at more plop-a-new-head-on-the-standard-body-and-call-it-a-day guys. I need myself a Chronos the Time Thief, dammit.

The Main Man!
Hah, lucky!
I’m kicking myself for having missed out on him.
(Does stuff on Mattycollector EVER last long? My friend is always ragging on about how the MOTU stuff doesn’t even last a day…)
MOTU stuff doesn’t last 15 minutes.
But JLU stuff tended to last for months, which is why they stopped doing 4-packs and are doing single guys like Lobo.
Heh.
Shame I got into the too late to get the Shazam! family 4-pack…
But when did Lobo go live, anyway?
And if their products last so not-long-at-all… why don’t they just make more? Surely they can do a larger production run that can last two or three days on the site?
Middle of June. The 16th or so.
Yeek.
I’ll have to pay closer attention to whatever they’ll do next, and pay extra-close attention to the release date.
Got any recommendations for sites I should check for this stuff? I’m more used to Transformers where everything worthwhile is reported on every site. DC stuff seems a bit harder to get concrete info on.
I just routinely keep up with mattycollector.com.
He’s almost big enough to take on 6 inch Batman!
Yeah, I’ve been reading Willis’ blog too long. I read that as “He’s almost big enough to take A PUNCH from 6 inch Batman.”
Which is true of most things, really.
That’s what I was originally going to post, but I realized that the Main Man could take a punch from Batman no matter what scale they made him in!
Lobo was always my favorite member of the Justice League.
I couldn’t find a way to mail this to you, and I don’t know if you already saw this, but I figured I’d show you anyway this thing I saw on the internet!
Ravage the USB! http://www.pixelelement.com/10-awesome-usb-thumb-drives-for-geeks/
I have no relation to this site, but I figured if you wanted it I should give the site in case.
IIRC he has one already…
Dude, the best Superman you had to photograph him with is the crappy 9 POA one? You didn’t have any nice 5 POA ones lying around?
I don’t know what that terminology means.
POA is Points of Articulation. 9 POA are the crappy ones with elbow and knee joints. 5 POA are the nicer neck/shoulder/hip joints. Not that I’m biased or anything
I have only ever seen POA as an acronym for “piece of ass”, as in, “That girl is a hot POA.”
