I would argue that while all of Batman’s villains read like they we’re pulled randomly from the DSM-IV, Spidey’s have a deeper cultural, mythological value as they speak of Jungian archetypes. :P

    ;)

It’s worth noting that The Flash’s rogues gallery has a code of honor amongst themselves that (apparently) extends to The Flash himself. (I believe Barry Allen, but I’m not a big comics person, having recently been inducted via the complete Blue Beetle anthology*.) I mean no attempt at argument on this.

Despite that, I must posit that they thus are the superior Rogues Gallery. Sure, Bats’ enemies will work together, but if The Riddler wound up getting offed, you wouldn’t see The Joker or Ra’s al Ghul at the funeral unless he planned on drawing a smiley face on the late Mr. Nigma’s casket.

*Jaime Reyes, the Third Blue Beetle, specifically.

I’ve gotta say that while both Spidey and Batsy both have awesome rogues galleries, the X-Men have to take the cake. I mean, seriously? Who haven’t they fought?

How about Wolverine? He’s on so many teams he gets to count all of their rogues.

And let’s not forget that Wolverine’s rogues gallery also includes Batman’s whole rogues gallery:

Yes, but via the transitive property, that means Batman also has all of Wolverine’s rogues. And Since Wolverine has fought pretty much all of Spidey’s villains at one point or another, Batman has all of THEM too.

        So Batman > Spider-Man.

Next issue: Spidey either stumbles on a meeting of his greatest foes, or a furry convention. Can he figure out the difference in time?

Unless P.P. is under the influence I thing a crowd of furry fangirls wanting to Glomp him as opposed to a group wanting to hit him with things of the large heavy kind, will be a big tipoff. Mind you mass glompings could prove hazardous.

I would read any comic book with a supervillain team called “The Glomping Fangirls”.

I would gladly listen to a band with that name as well.

Look I like Batman because it’s at least SOMEWHAT closer to being realistic than other comics. Batman fights crazy people. Without any powers except for his awesomeness. Spiderman doesn’t even have a lair. He’s got, what, the Spidey Apartment?

Batman is cooler. Why? Because he’s Batman.

Realism, really? With his Batwing that would be only able to fly in zero gravity environment? With guys like Killer Croc? With crazy tech of which half is also physically impossible? PLEASE don’t bring realism to a comic fight.

It should be noted that a “mad hatter” is a pretty scary opponent: take a guy who makes hats, ensure the hat-making process involves mercury fumes (inducing mercury poisoning), watch as their ability to filter sensory stimuli deteriorates and adrenal glands slow, paradoxically granting them lunatic strength keyed to a hair-trigger temper.

Oh, come on, guys. The best rogue’s gallery is obviously Amazi-Girl’s.

    Or maybe Rogue’s.
