     The Joker has a plan and he’s just crazy enough to pull it off. Even when you’re the best at what you do, some crazy nutter can come along and f*** everything up. The Joker’s main advantage is how unpredictable he is.

     The Batman is simply a master of dramaturgy (among all other things), and thus realizes that he must cultivate a primary nemesis in order to create a compelling narrative. He chooses the Joker because the juxtaposition of their personalities promotes the most cathartic conflicts.
