I really liked the movie. I’ve never watched the cartoon or read the comics, so I don’t know how good of an adaptation it was (though I hear it wasn’t a very good one), but I found it a good action film.

But that line drove me insane. It was stupid for so many reasons. I cringe every time I hear it.

I personally figured the line was more motivated by “what can I say that will get him to shut up and leave me alone the quickest” than any actual belief in the claim.

To be fair, evo-psych is highly permeated by pseudo-scientific bullshit used to justify and perpetuate so-called ‘traditional’ gender roles, and as such, isn’t exactly the most water-tight field of inquiry.

Anyway, I’m on that side (the “no/little emotions side), but it’s do to complications and personal choice, not for some balogna reason like that.

Also, as an amature psycologist, I was able to (partially) lock up my emotions, which is safe. Bottling them up isn’t

I am a student of SCIENCE

and I hate movies that do this; emotions are quite real even from a scientific perspective anyways. The guy is totally right xP
