Magical metal golems or sentient computer-based robots; victorious slaves vs shiny new gladiators or decadent bureaucrats vs underclass laborers; trukk or munky; always awesome.
“You do not know me, but I am a juvenile delinquent. I do not trust authority figures, I probably will not graduate from high school, and statistics say my present rowdiness and vandalism will likely lead to more serious crimes. I am a dangerous fellow, and I am causing mayhem in this store.” He reached behind her and pulled three jars of baby food from the top shelf. Shoved them behind a box of macaroni. Shuffled the Cheez Whiz in front of the Marshmallow Fluff. Tossed a bag of lady’s shavers onto a bag of hamburger buns. “There. I have now shamelessly destroyed the symmetry of this shelf, undoing hours of labor by underpaid store employees. If you could see me, you would be frightened.”
Freaking Animorphs, man. I still have all my copies of the books, except #2, which I can’t find anywhere. I always want to go back and archive binge them and then I remember that I can’t because I’m missing #2. Thank god for the reprint this summer.
I had the toys, too. I didn’t love them, but they were pretty cool. Except for the Hork-Bajir; that thing was awesome.
Ya know, never mind, I looked it up; according to Wikipedia at any rate, they’re apparently described in the books dark green in the books, and one of the book covers has them a light brown )… so… black and yellow!? WTF?
I would be tempted to get one if they weren’t those bizarre colors. Or I’d be tempted to try and paint it, I guess…
I’m not a toy person. I don’t care about “toy accuracy”. The Hork-Bajir was friggin’ awesome and that’s all I care about. (Granted, the fact that it turns into Visser Three makes the color choice more baffling, but whatever.)
Mine broke when I was thirteen. I got a French one off eBay mint-in-the-box a few months back. It was $80 and worth every penny.

What, No Energon/Cybertron/Machine Wars?
may 8th was my Birthday. I never realized Transformers came out on that day. Holy CRAP.
So, when is it now?
*sigh* Would you like your cigar now or later, Mr. Marx? And could you comb those eyebrows, please?
High five for May 8th birthdays. I was so stoked when the Star Trek movie came out.
*high five*
Taurons frakkin rock!
Dude, I remember animorphs! They had the little flip thing on the bottom, and the scorpion dude, ax.
He was an Andalite.
Heh. Ax.

…were the Hork-Bajir in the book supposed to be that bizarre, wasp-themed yellow and black? o.O
Since they eat tree bark, I kind of assumed they’d be… sort of brownish. Like those brown anoles.
I have to say other than the colors, they do look pretty awesome, and pretty close to what I pictured. But I could be picturing it wrong.
