Well, even then while I sort of agree with Jarekk, WWE was on Spike TV, but their contract ran out in 2005, so Spike decided to pick up Total Nonstop Action in it’s place.

While it would work on anything but SyFy, a lot of it has to do with it coming down to whoever runs NBC-Universal loves WWE, and will let them have a LOT of things, just not the freedoms they used to in the Attitude era. Such as running Tough Enough season 5, letting Raw expand into 3-hour specials and eventually PERMANENTLY run for three hours, and expanding wrestling to their other networks.

So yeah, pin it down to someone having a big hard-on for wrestling over there.
