Ethan could probably be killed off, and come back a week later. It turns out what was killed was actually a cardboard cutout of himself, because he desperately needed to drive across the country for some new and fantastic toy that will only be in 1 specific store for 1 day.
On a vaguely related note, imagine how much it must suck for a character to be killed in the line of duty in a tragically self-risking way, and then find out that even though most characters in this series come back this one’s not going to. She–I mean, he, it, whatever–will stay dead while a sadistic bastard gets a resurrection flying in the face of all logic.
Wow. That came off less as a snarky remark and more as downright spiteful. It was uncalled for and mean-spirited, even if that wasn’t my intention. I’m sorry.
I’m presuming they were res’d via the same device Walky was- and frankly, a capable fighter and/or breeding specimen, (especially if you’re trying to prepare for the inevitable Martian invasion, pt 2), is a more valuable commodity instead of “lab tech”; takes several months, he’s (significantly) higher in the cue.
Nah, Joe said they couldn’t find anything from most of the dead, including Mike specifically, because the martians were good at completely destroying them. They can bring back Mandi, Grace or Guns, they can bring back Professor Doc, they could even probably bring back Beef, Tony, or Squad 37 if they wanted to, but Dina got blown up pretty badly and she’s WAY too smart to stay working at Shortpacked! if Galasso ever tried to resurrect her. Maybe McAwesome’s can use their unexplained resurrection technology.
But with Walky, they just used a specific bodily fluid. In fact they mention that any viable DNA sample will work. It is very possible that SEMME had DNA samples from their employees (agents? troops? whatevs) in a vault somewhere. Or that somebody had a sample from Mike specifically. Possibly from somebody’s mom.
While we’re being snarky, that’s tenets, not tenants. Tenents would be the people whose rent $$ funds Bruce Wayne’s little hobbies. Also important, of course, but they don’t get as much factime.
Batman stopped killing people before Robin showed up, which was within the first year or so of publication. The tv show was an entire two decades later.
I won’t believe that Batman is “dead” because no DC or Marvel character truly dies, except from old age. With all the times Superman, Wolverine, & Capt. America have technically “died” and have come back I have given up. Even in Anime. DBZ main characters have died so many times over only to come back. So when they finally kill someone off “for real” I will react just like Ethan. :/ For now I will keep believing Batman is out there, somewhere kicking ass. And maybe just maybe he’s fighting a Saber-tooth tiger.

-Uncle Ben.
Even in Anime. DBZ main characters have died so many times over only to come back.
-A lot of anime that doesn’t happen in. In DBZ, they have the Dragonballs, so yeah, anyone can pretty much resurrect any good guy they want to, after any fight. Some of the plots were even all about ressurecting people with the Dragonballs.
But at least they don’t try to hide it. They’re basically completely open about the fact that anyone can come back to life, at any time, after the first few seasons.
I did the exact same ;.;
90% of character death is bullshit.

Or he was traveling through time.
Deus Ex; Always there.
Actually a Doombot.
Speaking of which, haven’t seen Mike in a while.
But… he’s not dead, he’s time-traveling. Time-traveling makes everything better! (and seriously, Batman fighting saber-tooth tigers!)
Aw…
It’ll be okay.

Sound familiar, Willis?

Speaking of which, we never DID find out how Mike came back to life, did we?
I mean…are we ever? Wouldn’t an explanation be nice? Hello? Willis?

It sounded snarky (not spiteful) to me, but maybe I’m just in a good mood.
try anime deaths there more brutal and fun.
^This explains a lot.
…Yes, yes it does.
Possibly more than strictly needed to be explained…
This makes me eat frowns, as Batman used a gun. That’s what made him give up being Batman in Batman Beyond. That was one of his core tenants.
While we’re being snarky, that’s tenets, not tenants. Tenents would be the people whose rent $$ funds Bruce Wayne’s little hobbies. Also important, of course, but they don’t get as much factime.
It wasn’t one of his core tenets. Well, not before the fifties or so.
Motherfucker threw people offa roofs.
It’s not no killing, it’s no guns
Makes the moment over too quick. You need to take time to savor it.
Roadblock’s expression is telling Ethan to quit crying.
No, he’s telling Ethan, “Quit crying, you little baby / Bats’ll be back, that ain’t no maybe.”
I personally, was extremely happy that Dick Grayson was spotlighted for once. He’s tougher than Bruce, more agile than Bruce and just as smart.
Re: the tags. Final Crisis, not Infinite Crisis.
Just saying.
Even if they kill off Batman in comic reality, they can always start a new recon, after all, Batman is one of DC’s biggest cashcows.
Robin explained in words exactly how I understood final crisic better than I could…
but the original Batman carried a gun and wasn’t afraid to use it. Didn’t lose the gun until the tv show.
