The web pattern is extremely slimming on a car.

Well, yes. Spiders have incredible mobility in tight spaces. It follows to reason, then, that Spider-Car could possibly have that power, seeing as his powers are spider-based. And he doesn’t use it when he’s Ultra Car to maintain his secret identity.

Of course, where would he get spider-based powers? Mutant spider venom in the fuel tank?

    8O

This whole thing makes sense, in a Shortpacked kind of way.

Well if I recall, he is a Hybrid. They just never said a hybrid of what.

*facepalm* Yes, he did. Now everything makes since and I feel silly for not remembering (especially since I was reading It’s Walky earlier today).

Didn’t Ultra Car complain about it not working earlier?

Joe substituted it for more cupholders. See the April 13th 2009 strip.

Yes, but this was submitted in January 2009, so at this point he would still have the intangibility circuit (and less cupholders)

Sigh. Y’know, when someone says “see the April 13 2009 strip,” maybe one should actually go check it out before claiming things.

Ultra Car’s current body, the only body that’s been seen in Shortpacked!, has never had the intangibility drive. It was removed when he got the upgrade from his original SUV body, which was yeeeeeeeeeeeears ago in Joyce and Walky!.

            Forgive me, I’m cranky.

Ha, I had a feeling your “traded it for cup holders” comment in thr earlier SP! strip was sarcastic.

What you referencd here must be in the paid-only section of Joyce & Walky, because I just got thru all the free ones and this is the first I’m hearing of the body swap.

….it was not sarcastic. I don’t know why you would think it would be.

And everything relevant is covered in the free strips. Everything. There is no strip in the J&W! paid-only archives that is about Ultra Car losing his intangibility drive and getting cupholders. This strip does not exist, and the earlier Shortpacked! strip linked above is the only time this subject comes up.
