   I liked ultimates volumes 1 and 2 with 1 being the pinnacle….but Volume 3 was a breaking point. Still, I honestly prefer the character models in the Ultimates universe to the ones from the standard universe. Thor looks more what I picture a viking would look like, less pretty boy and C.A. ditched those silly wingies on his helmet.

     Same here. I loved the beginning of the Ultimate universe. I loved all the origin stories and everything. But then the Ultimates kinda sucked from the beginning (way too heavy on the soap-opera drama for me), the X-Men just kinda fizzled out, and Spider-Man died. After that, I just gave up on everything Ultimate.

   I like what they’re doing at the moment. I still wish Ultimatum and Ultimates 3 had never happened (I don’t feel quite the same about New Ultimates, but that seems to have affected nothing), but casually reading the ultimate universe it seems all right at the moment.
