I work at a radioshack, there are EIGHT things we have to push to everyone in addition to what they actually want. This bit about cprs hurts my heart. So does my Job.

I don't know why I never went into an FYE... I always figured the name was just "F You Every(body, where, one, fill in additional)". Kinda like FYI, I just can't take it seriously...

I worked at FYE for several years, and while we also had things to push on customers, it wasn't as big a deal. If we sold one, we got praise, and if we didn't, it was just "well too bad, maybe tomorrow." Our jobs never depended on it.

I was a regular customer of Blockbuster...when they were selling off all their DVDs and closing stores. Did the same thing to Sam Goody. The sales reps were nice and helpful then.

The 18-month-old "new releases" didn't help either.

Or because we get tired of hearing that crap. I quit going to BlockBuster when I spent more time telling the salesman "No" than I did picking out and renting a movie.

Oh, Blockbuster... Speaking as someone who was with the company when they did declared that, I'll admit, there wasn't much glee. In retrospect, since I left for another job... Yeah, I'm okay with it now.

But stupid Rewards and candy bundles! Why should my job be put in jeopardy because people realize they get more candy, pop, and popcorn by buying it from the grocery store a block away!

This is bringing back not-so-fond memories of working retail for me. Only for me it was Blockbuster's preferred renter plans, and you either sold so many a week or you got your hours cut.

The recent news of their bankruptcy filled me with a not inconsiderable amount of glee.
