For anyone else reading unfamiliar with the japanese language that would be the sound effect in the first panel that looks like a smiley face. The problem here is that the base is for the sound "shi" and a mark is used to denote a change in the used consonant. However instead of a circle(which is used to change h to p) there should be two short vertical lines much like a miniature quotation mark where the circle is. Just sayin'...
