        Actually yes! They totally have! Not the main news guys though. Some of their primetime shows do it, for humor value when a story is particularly stupid.

        The Rachel Maddow Show for instance, has used sock puppets before as a gag, as well as photo portraits taped to sticks. I think Olberman used to occasionally do the same.

        This is not terribly surprising if you’ve actually watched those shows, as they’re at least half goofy humor and cheerfully-delivered snark (well, cheerful if it’s Maddow. Olberman used to get a lot pissier sometimes, depending on the subject).

        In fact, when they got to the sock puppets… honestly, I literally LOL’d. BECAUSE IT IS ACTUALLY TRUE. :D
